They are essentially like Callipos and great for three reasons: 1) They are cheap 2) They are delicious - mango flavour, yummy yummy 3) Their name rhymes with Boozy (except they don't contain alcohol, if they did I could probably add a fourth reason to this list) One of my least favourite things about Egypt are flies landing on my face. Historical Traveler Reviews Dana Beach Resort Hurghada
Myself and my partner wanted a place to relax, unwind and recharge our drained batteries, and Dana Beach was certainly the place for us to do that.
We stayed at Dana beach in january 2006 for a week. The resort is very beautiful to look at. The breakfast, lunch and dinner buffes were extremely good. The all-inclusive service was very satisfactory. The hotel has mostly russian(60%) guests. german(30%) and others(10%). The rooms are very clean and so is the hotel in general. employess cleaning the place was seen all the time at all the places. There are som some things that give the Dana beach a minus and that is: the salesmen that come up to you inside the hotel by the pool, on the beach, everywhere and try to sell you excursions etc. They never left us alone. Some of them were realy pushy. For a 4 or 5 star hotel that is totally unacceptable. The second thing was the evening entertainment shows. Extremely bad taste and quality. Most of it was in the russian language. Overall it was a very nice hotel with those few exceptions.
Went to this hotel for Christmas arrived on the 23rd December and stayed until the 30th December.
I'm sorry to say but if you are thinking of going to this resort - THINK TWICE.
The LTI Dana Beach Resort is an excellent hotel right on the current outskirts of Hurghada. We came back on 14 Oct having stayed for 2 weeks.
We visited the Dana Beach Hotel at the beginning of June 2005, this was a "Honeymoon Holiday" - Myself, Husband and our Daughter aged 12. We have travelled extensively to the usual resorts in Europe (Spain/Canaries etc) mostly all-inclusive, but to celebrate our marriage we wanted to do something special. This was our first trip to Egypt and we were unsure what to expect. On arrival at the airport we quickly realised that we were far from a European Country when the luggage started to come through on the conveyor belt, some of it open and the contents of cases thrown all over the place. Still trying to be positive we made our way to the transfer coach, this was something else! We started to get a little concerned on the transfer coach when we saw all the armed police checkpoints dotted around the area. However, when we arrived at the hotel, initially we were really pleased. The Dana Beach Hotel is lovely to look at - we could not fault it on decor. It is a new hotel and quite luxurious - the reception area is really impressive, the bedrooms are pretty much what you usually get with an all-inclusive deal, they were however, very clean. To begin with it was strange seeing all male staff - even the cleaners are men (there were only 2 females working at the hotel) - apparently this is common-place in Egypt. However as a rule the Egyptian people are very friendly and have a really good sense of humour.
My partner and I wanted a no hassle week away where we didn't have to do anything, and thats what we got. The hotel isn't 5* by english standards, but it is a good standard and kept very clean. Lots of staff that are all friendly, and the only thing I paid for all week was a submarine trip and internet access.
