It's all so vague. I think that Hels and I popped down to see Clare and Byron having breakfast and thanked the staff who helped make it such a good day. Clare and Byron are coming to Muri Hillside at 1pm for a BBQ. Everyone who was at the wedding is coming ...
... around our accommodation. We are all staying in a variety of rooms at Muri Hillside, and although the accommodation is quite basic it really is ideal for our large group that will now grow day on day till the wedding. When we returned to our road we asked a hire shop about renting scooters. They agreed to get us five but later when we returned to do the paperwork they put us in a minibus of sorts and took us to their main office on the other side go the island about 15 kms ...
Hi everyone! We arrived in the Cook Islands yesterday and let me tell you, it is beautiful. It really is paradise. When we arrived last night it was afternoon but by the time we got to the Hotel it was dark. We went and had tea at the restaurant which was called the barefoot bar because the tables were in the beach sand and you had to take your shoes off. We went for ...
... was amazing last night, but truly they all are. We dined at the Grand Dining Room and had nice dinner Today I got up early to run so that we could walk the deck before the first lecture on Polynesian cooking. It was done with humor as usual and the end products was beautiful. We had lunch after that and before the boat races. Ten groups of people made ships out of debris from the ship like corks, plastic ping pong ...
... I broke down and had a burger. For our last night we had booked a "cultural show" at Highland Paradise, an old tribal site that had been uncovered and partially restored. Suffice it to say that we could have found a better way to spend our last night. Food was mediocre and ...

Historical Traveler Reviews Crown Beach Resort & Spa Arorangi
My partner and I got engaged last summer and made the decision very quickly that we wanted to get married abroad. After weeks of searching we settled on the Crown Beach resort and oh boy are we pleased we did! A number of family members expressed the desire to come with us, 2 of who also stayed at the resort.
The crown beach resort has the best accomodation on the island with outstanding bures, spectacular sunsets and breathtaking blue lagoons and white sandy beaches. Pure paradise. My fiance and i went to the crown beach resort in april this year for our dream wedding in paradise. After reading recent reveiws and looking at spectacular photographs of the resort we had exactly what we wanted. As soon as we arrived at the crown beach resort we were immidiately greeted with our happy and friendly wedding coordinator Kora and the manager of the resort sonny who took us to our bure (beach front villa) and arranged for the porter to bring our suitcases.
My hubby and I spent 3 weeks in the Cook Islands and unfortunately had rented a private home that turned out to be not so nice. After many nights of sleeping on horrible beds and listening to the roosters at all hours of the night, we decided to rent a bungalow at the Crown Beach Resort and there wasn't a rooster in sight!!!!!! Anyone who has been to the Cooks will understand the rooster issue. We ended up in 3 nights and days of absolute HEAVEN. The breakfast every morning was great and the staff were fabulous. We are now planning a trip to New Zealand and anticipate a nice stop over and stay at the Crown Beach.(We loved it so much we will return). My only caution is this is not a resort for people who want constant entertainment. It is a private and quiet paradise.
My Boyfriend and I stayed at the Crown Beach Resort for approx 10 nights in Jan 2006 (Just returned home a couple of days ago!). We had an absolute ball!
My wife and I spent part of our honeymoon here in August. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. It rained our first day there, so the staff was quick to offer free DVD's to watch until the skies cleared. They also offered suggestions for things to do on the island and all of their suggestions were great. The restaurant was excellent; the food very fresh and of high quality. The only negative was the fact that we arrived early in the morning, as most do, due to the flight schedules, and had to pay an early check-in fee to get our villa. They offered to let us relax on the couch out by the pool and bar, but since it was raining, we chose to pay the fee and rest in the villa. We should have read the fine print. Just be aware that you'll most likely arrive way before the check-in time and be required to pay a fee if you want your villa early.
I stayed there with my girlfriend in March 2004 and we really liked the place. The people were very warm and friendly, but not intrusive.
I spend a lot of time looking for accomodation in the Cook Islands wondering which island to choose and where to stay (we also hesitated between Fidji and the Cook but everybody (my wife's hairdresser included advised for the Cook). Having been already to French Polynesia, I also knew that sometimes people can charge a lot for something that is not so much better than what you find next door.
BEST PLACE TO STAY
Stayed in the beachfront unit which was very large, very clean and just wonderful. Full kitchen facitilites. Unit right on the beach. Staff at Crown Beach couldn't have been nicer. They attended to our every need and made our stay truly enjoyable. Everyone is treated like family. Not as windy on this side of the island in the afternoons when the trades come up. Beach is very clean & snorkeling in the lagoon is as good as it gets. Thanks to all the staff for making our Raro vacation a truly memorable one.
