Getting out of Cape Cod was a bit of a bind. Travelling on a Summer Sunday with all the weekenders from Boston and New York was slow progress; what should have been a 3 hr journey took 5 hrs and travelling on the interstate highways made it a dull journey until we got to the Berkshires where the scenery gets a little more interesting and the small …

Yesterday was ruined by constant, heavy rain. Today couldn't have been any more different - beautiful bright blue skies all day accompanied by crisp temperatures. Marvellous!

The clouds had cleared from breakfast and it was a beautiful day, not cold, very pleasant. Walked around the city for a short time taking in part of a walking tour. There are some lovely old buildings, some not so nice looking ones and some big new buildings.

... Tom was required to get us back on track.

Booked into another Comfort Inn outside Albany. We are now considered to be "preferred members" as we have stayed with them quite a few times. This hotel is quite fancy looking from the outside and has banquet rooms. Had Italian for dinner at a nearby restaurant. We have decided to spend 2 nights here to have a bit of a rest day tomorrow and we have spent a few hours researching where to stay in New York City. Still none the wiser.
