      I Made it!

A travel blog entry by k.c77 on Nov 24, 2014

Although I am sad to be leaving Nashville, I am thrilled to be on my way to my final destination. I have been having some pretty expensive breakfasts at the resort so today had pancakes from McDonald's for only $2.19. For lunch I had Chick-Fil-A for $5.95. For dinner ...

Doing this as a blog post so that those that are interested can view it and those that aren't....well that's okay. We've been thinking about doing this since we were there in September. We knew it was time to leave and get back to our adventure. We planned out our morning and then enjoyed our last night in a big comfy ...

Today we drove to Cades Cove in Smoky Mountain National Park. Because it was through the mountains, the road was slow but picturesque. We stopped at a picnic area for lunch, then continued on towards the Cades Cove loop. Part way along the loop, we hiked to the Abrams Falls. About a 5 m hike ...

Today we drove through the center of the park. We did a short trail walk in the afternoon and then headed to Clingman's dome (6643ft high) for sunset - around 5:30. There were snow banks on the sides of the road as we drove up to Clingman's dome trailhead. At times along the way, you would see little snowmen that people would have built. They had an early snowfall 2 days ...
