... to drive another way through the Smoky Mountains, to see the start of the Appalachian Trial. Here we walked along the same footpath as the Native American tribes when they were forced from their land, so we did a mile of it and made our way back. ... in the area offered up her lake house and boat to us today, so after building we all went to her house and it was glorious. The water was refreshing (and dirty), we ate, I finished my book (Orphan Train, it's great), ate some food, chit chatted and went on a boat ride. Today is Redding's birthday, he's a rider in the group, and he's claiming it was his best birthday yet. And I'm going to have to agree with him, today was a pretty great day. A few of us played some dodgeball with the local kids, who were adorably intrigued by our weird bike outfits and the fact that we would be sleeping in the very same building they were currently playing in. Their interest kind of made me feel like a low-key celebrity. ;) After showers and a delicious meal provided by The Marysville Habitat, I played some ping pong and tried to watch the Karate Kid before we all sacked out about ten minutes in.
