Hello everyone. Especially all those who are freezing their little buns off, we are in sunny Southern Florida and we may never leave again!
It's beautiful down here. We made our way down from Titusville, first pit stop Miami beach (South Beach) and some soaking up the sun. A lovely white sand beach on the Atlantic and the water was warm enough for a dip and the sun shining and begging for some sun baking. Miami ...
Although the diving is done and we are leaving Key Largo the trip itself isn't over and we get up at four in the morning to start the day's adventures with Paul Z. and Artie as the first drivers of the day.
Just like the trip down, we make a slight unplanned detour except this time play "Follow the Leader" following Artie and George (the ...
... Road Back
(Author's Note: Although this is dated in chronological order I've had to backtrack a bit since Internet access in Key Largo was being difficult, was having too much fun to check in, and too tired at the end to keep up.)
... say Jim had been looking forward to this part of the trip for months. The lovely lady at reception met us with the news that we had been upgraded to a 'cottage' instead of the 'studio' we had booked - bonus! The resort is absolutely beautiful and feels more Caribbean than American. It lies on the Atlantic Ocean and has stunning views over miles of ocean as far as the eye can see. A welcome change to the high-rise blocks of Miami.

... I have bought for the trip before I leave... Long Key was the place. Overall, I think it went very well. The things that I took away from the trip were: bring more water and less beer, don't forget the sunscreen, canned items hold much better in bright, daylong, shade-less areas than turkey sandwiches with cheese and mayonnaise which lead directly to painful stomach cramps, loss of sleep, random puking throughout the night, and of ...
67400 Overseas Highway, Florida Keys, Florida, United States soldadito... and I swear it's tail went in my mouth!! Ironically we ate alligator tail afterwards which was yummy, bit tough. Afterwards we headed back and chilled in South Beach. In the evening we ventured out along Washington Avenue and went to a classic looking diner. Had a lovely meal as well! Going to Orlando tomorrow.
Everglades National Park, Florida, United States nicola.carsons... OF AIR, for safety and also because you might (will?) need a safety stop, but I'll explain about this later. Right arm: you have your regulator, this is the tube you put in your mouth to breathe through and your octopus, this is your spare regulator. This one is used for emergency for yourself (if your regulator does not work) of to help someone else (if they are out of air and you have plenty). We are diving in WARM water: above 25 degrees. If it is less, we need a wetsuit ...
Florida City, Florida, United States tonyandmarina... We watched the partygoers trickle in and the stages fill up. Only four out of the nine stages would be used tonight as the real party apparently starts tomorrow. I enjoyed some excellent people watching and made a note of the different vibe here compared to other similar parties I have attended. I didn't know if it was the amount of people or just the location but it was a little less friendly than what I am used to. I did however quite enjoy several of the DJs who I had come ...

Tried some night fishing for crabs -- no luck, but the sunset was beautiful plus the manatee and porpoises were fun to watch. Day 69, Monday March 26: Clear 80+F. Saw an alien skink that invaded from Carolina -- original ones likely released pets. Ocean extremely warm today; played in the waves, which were five to seven feet, for over an hour. This was likely the most strenuous exercise of my trip since the rip ...
