· Adding again. It’s Thursday evening, another Prom night. I want the food being served in the dining room, but I don’t want to dress up. So I’m ordering free room service from the dining room menu. A lot of people don’t know you can do that. Im icing my knee while I wait. I worked it too hard.

Historical Traveler Reviews Coco Reef Resort Bermuda Paget
I have done numerous inspections at every hotel property on the island as an employee of the Bermuda Department of Tourism, and have seen nearly every room available by this point. I can say then with authority that the Stonington is one of the top properties on the island. To start, the rooms are very large in relation to the price.
We first stayed at The Stonington Beach Hotel on our honeymoon 19 years ago. We've returned to Bermuda numerous times. We really missed the boat when we stayed elsewhere. No other property measured up. We were concerned that upcoming renovations would mean that the property would not be at it's best. We couldn't have been more wrong. From the moment we arrived we fell in love with the property again. The rooms all have excellent views. They were spotless. The decorations are a bit faded, but clean, and will be replaced when the property is renovated this Fall. With evening turndown service, we always had clean towels and fresh linens. The staff was friendly, welcoming and professional. After a few days we felt like honored family members. The food was excellent.
After numerous trips to Bermuda and staying at assorted hotels, this was our first visit to The Stonington. It is a wonderful property with a spectacular beach and views. The staff was always attentive and friendly. The beachfront room was excellent with a million dollar view of the ocean. I would definately recommend the exchange dining privilege with the other hotels and specifically suggest going to the Reefs. As I understand it, there will be a number of capital improvements made to the hotel. Needless to say, we look forward to returning to this gem of a hotel.
Spent 5 gorgeous days in Bermuda at Stonington Beach Hotel-what a dream! From the moment we arrived at the hotel we felt well looked after by all staff. It was everything and more that I read about on various internet boards. Our ocean view room was spotless and had every amenity we could want. Enjoyed two dinners at the hotel including a romantic outdoor barbeque by the pool. Couldn't stop looking at view of the beautiful beach, sunrise, sunset, all day long. One of the most beaufiul beaches I have been on. No trouble getting taxis into town and all the drivers were so friendly and helpful-very proud of their island. Enjoyed horseback riding with Spicelands Riding Stable and talking with Joey about the harness racing season in Bermuda. Spent an afternoon in Hamilton shopping (buyers note that many stores close at 5pm) and walking around Harbour Nights. Had a fantastic dinner at Frescos and another no so fantastic dinner at Harleys in the Fairmont Hamilton. Mediocre food and friendly but forgetful service-not recommended. Bermuda was a dream destination for a 2nd honeymoon -and I'm already planning my 3rd honeymoon there!!!
The Stonington Beach hotel is a great choice for a quiet hotel in Bermuda that has a great beach. It is literally next door to the ever popular Elbow Beach Hotel, but is small, quiet and perfect for a romantic get-a-way. I would not recommend this hotel for children-it is deffinately a couples resort. The beach was fabulous and because it is on the famous Elbow Beach, you can enjoy wonderful walks up and down this magnificent beach. The restaurant was excellent, but I would not choose to eat there every night. The pool looked very clean and nice-we did not use it though because the beach was so fabulous. The staff was friendly and the rooms were very clean, with both morning and night service. Mopeds can be rented on site-a deffinate plus. Also, with the big Elbow Beach Hotel next door, one only need walk 10 yards down the beach to enjoy the ammenities of a large hotel-restaurants etc.
The best thing I can say about my May 2003, stay at the Stonington Beach Hotel is the beach was outstanding and that was the only aspect that remotely met expectations. At check in I asked that our room be changed to a second floor room in a quiet location. We arrived at the room to find luggage which was not ours and the lock securing our room from the adjoining room to be broken. The bath was not marble as advertised and the water pressure was grossly insufficient. We unfortunately opted for the meal plan which resulted in receiving the same meal for 7 nights with no variation in sauce type or preparation. Also the quality of service left much to be desired. At check out we found erroneous charges and our guaranteed room rate was not honored resulting in a $500 increase to our bill. I will be going back to Bermuda but staying elsewhere.
10th trip and planning a return
We have been to Bermuda 12 times and the past 10 times we have stayed at Stonington Beach and would not stay anywhere else. It is directly on one of the best beaches in Bermuda and is small (64 rooms), the staff is wonderful, and the food exquisite and gourmet all the way. The location on the island is perfect - right in the middle - making it easily accessible to the east and west end and also to Hamilton. Every time we have to leave, we vow to return and are presently planning our 11th stay there. Please feel free to e-mail me if you have any questions.
We loved it!
My husband and I spent 5 days in October 2002 at Stonington Beach for our 25th anniversary. The room was beautiful and clean with an unbelievable view of the ocean. The food was very good, especially on the nights that there was table service as opposed to a buffet. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Michael, the bartender in the Over-plus bar went out of his way to make us happy (his potent rum swizzles helped)! There was twice daily maid and turn-down service. The hotel made sure that there was a nice bottle of champagne on ice in the room for our arrival. The airport transfer was smooth with a minimal wait. After reading some negative comments on the internet I was nervous, but we would return here in a minute!
Back in August 92', my wife and I honeymooned on Bermuda's South Shore and we vowed to return for our ten year anniversary.
Lovely Intimate Oceanfront Hotel
The Stonington Beach Hotel was everything I hope it would be...small...intimate...with a beautiful oceanfront setting.
Our oceanfront room was very nice..when we laided on our king sized bed we felt like our toes were touching the waves...the sound of the ocean at night was lovely...
The food was excellent from the buffet breakfast, to the lunches on the terrace...to the gourmet dinners in the Norwood Room, including their sensational Thursday night gourmet Barbecue.
The hotel is only ten minutes to Hamilton and south shore beaches.
The staff was very pleasant and accomdating.
If your looking for small and lovely this is it.
