Pretty, picturesque Hope Town!!! We are happy to be in this lovely little town, and little did we know, we got here at a great time of year. Phil has been getting bored and fed up with beating to windward and he now wants to miss the trip back, so we need 2 crew
We should be meeting one in Nassau on 20th and then sail to Bermuda where we pick up the 2nd and phil can fly home.
18/4 We stayed in the marina to be on the internet all day and sort out crew and had a walk around the island to look for ...
... outside of the harbor for a couple of evenings and then a storm was coming through so we transferred to the tiny harbor filled with mooring balls. Another community existed in the harbor, some boats stay there, at $20 a day for months. The mooring balls allow the maximum amount of boats safely, the various colored balls identify the owner and who to pay.
One live aboard couple set up a Tarzan ...
... objective with each zig and zag. Through the night, I tacked 7 times and traveled a total distance over ground of 29 Miles in order to get to the Great Sale Anchorage.
At 7:30 am we anchored under sail after 6.5 hours of beautiful night sailing... ghosting along at at 4 or 5 MPH in very light headwinds - it was one of the more pleasant sails of my life.
I can't say enough about how happy we are ...
