Sidi Yahya la Palmeraie Marrakech, Morocco, 40000
... After a stressful spell though the buzz of Marrakech makes me appreciate all we have experienced and everything us Westerners have even more. Morocco is more amazing than i remembered with its incredible colours, culture and continuous backdrop of distant mountain ranges.
Reality beckons as we are back by Chrimbo but for now we are losing ourselves in all sorts of surreal and out-standing cinema in the sunny but still cold capital...

... and left to have your own adventure. Side trips can be taken but they aren’t always organized by the driver. The road conditions vary from paved, dirt, mud, and everything in the middle. Sometimes you wonder how it is physically possible to make it through the narrow passengers that our driver navigates or the streets full of people and parked cars. It puts Austin Powers to shame. But there is really no other way to see Africa, at least for me.
... oils. I actually was subject to the henna con. They say "free" “Free” and you try to figure out how to politely say no thank you but before you know it you are being drawn on in Henna, badly drawn on, and bartering the price that was supposed to be free. My hand looks retarded by the way. Well I won’t fall for it a second time, I hope.
I highly recommend Marrakech for anyone thinking of going to Morocco but beware of cute henna ladies with freckles.
... asked me a question in Arabic, and I told her in English that I loved her home and was honored to be welcomed into it so warmly. Nassima told me she asked if I thought Moroccan life was worse than American life, and I said absolutely not, I loved it, and picked up a knife to help the women cut up the organs to make shish kabobs. That time helping make lunch was probably the best time I had in Morocco-so many moments with that family were amazing, but that time in the kitchen helping cut up ...

Marrakesh, Marrakech-Tensift-Al Haouz, Morocco cariverga... the last prayer call for the day before starting to eat. For dinner we had Moroccan salad (bit of a cross between a greek salad and tabouli); Shellie had a Tagine with Vegetable, I had a Tagine with chicken, onion, raisins and almonds, and we both had mint-tea (a very very nice local speciality). Dinner was fantastic, afterwards making our way back up Mohammed V to our hotel. Tomorrow we are on a tour to Asni in the Atlas moutains, with a view of the highest mountain in the range at 4,138m.
Marrakech, Morocco pgdavis... Allah! I believe they start at about 430am - should be fun! I was going to venture out today, but was so tired I kept falling asleep so decided to brave town in the morning after brekkie. Lots of storks flying around - one flew really low over the courtyard - looked like a pterodactyl. No cats yet - this hotel really ought to have some - our cats would love it here. Ferdinand especially would love the little birds! So I'm going to sleep now - tomorrow I meet cobras!
Marrakech, Morocco slapperoonie... to the Sahara which we arrived at in time for sunset Camel rides through the amazing red dunes. We ate that night in a typical berber campsite and slept out under the stars, only to ride back on camels (an experience that not all of our group-particularly Ian as the only male revelled in) the following morning. Red dunes 35m high and cloudless blue sky-the scenery was so photo worthy!!(shame our camera was screwed!!) And so it has ended... New adventures await... Luv to you all xxxx
