    Atrocious service, Absolutely disgusted

    from

Upon our arrival we were informed that our reservation had not been recieved and thus they had no accomodation for us, although they had gladly accepted payment and issued a reciept number for said payment. We were told that it was our problem and we could write our travel agent an email (At a cost for using the email). When asked if we could use the phone to call our travel agent reverse charges we were flatly refused. Never recieved an apology and had to find emergeny accomodation elsewhere. Extremely dissapointed and severly tarnished our whole Fiji experience.

    Never Ever Go There!

    from

I actually think the rating of Terrible is even overrated!!!

Upon arriving at Club Fiji we were told that there was no reservation for us. Luckily I had the confirmation email from our travel agent saying that we definitely had accommodation booked. We showed this to Johnny - the so called owner - who proceeded to tell me it was not his fault he had not received our accommodation and that there was nothing he could do about it - it was my problem. My husband and I had prepaid our accomodation and had documentation to prove this so we asked Johnny to sort it out for us! He said he had no accommodation available for us and that we needed to contact our travel agent. We asked nicely if we could use the phone to make a reverse charges call to the travel agent from his phone and he refused even though it obviously wasn't going to cost him a thing! So we found a pay phone and called our travel agent reverse charges. They were most apologetic and told us that the confirmation details had been sent to and received by Club Fiji and that the resort also had access to an online view of the bookings which also showed our booking. The travel agent rang Johnny and attempted to solve our issues but he was so rude to us and the travel agent that we cancelled our entire stay (6 nights) and found alternative accommodaiton instead. Not once did Johnny apologise for the mix up nor did he even attempt to be polite or friendly but was instead absolutely rude!!! Also, in the 2 hours we were standing there sorting out our problem we saw the resort attempt to double charge somebody for their room - lucky they were carrying their receipt too - and we saw somebody else arrive to find the resort had no booking.

The whole experience was horrible and I have travelled a lot - thorughout Asia, Europe, USA and South America and have never come across somebody in tourism that was so rude and unhelpful. I am surprised they have any business - I am sure little of it is return business.

Looking for paradise? Avoid this place...

    from

We stayed here between 18th March - 22nd March 2006, thinking it would be a great place to relax after our very consuming world trip around Asia and Australia. Little did we know, until we stayed there... This resort was extremely unsatisfactory for various reasons...

1/ The room we booked online was advertised with a bath, yet the room offered only had a shower. The managment refused to give us a room with a bath despite us pointing out to them on the wotif website that the room was advertised with a bath. Subsequently, shortly after us complaining to them, they amended the details on the wotif.com website so we had no evidence to inform the Fiji tourist police.

2/ Our first night was extremely unpleasant, as we found the room to be infested with many 4inch long flying cockroaches. We complained asap to management in the morning. They moved us to another room. Yet, later that evening (2nd night) we found 20 or so large cockroaches crawling around our 2nd room. We complained again and requested a clean room, yet the management refused and requested us to leave the next day.

3/ We found the manager: 'Navin', unwilling to understand, unreasonable, very rude and aggressive. Not once did he apologise. Also he refused to help us find another hotel and would not let us use his internet to find one. Therefore we were stuck on the resort, miles from the nearest town or internet access. We have travelled the world for many years and we were alarmed by the disrespect and unhelpfulness we experienced from Navin.

Yes - The resort is off the beaten track, not a bad thing as, you find yourself amongst the peace and quiet. The beach is nothing special, a bit sludgy, and the tide goes out, so a long walk for a swim. Taxi is $5 to Nadi town, and theres not a great deal there except a few shops and a market

Yes - The resort food is good, and most of the staff are quite friendly, though a bit afraid of Navin, the manager when it comes to dealing with any requests.

We recommend: Malamala island is great for a day trip. The first landing village for some real friendly fijian hospitality. The sand dunes and 30 minute drive from there Old fortress ruins for great views across Fuji land. Stay at beachcomber island if you want clean beaches and relaxing.

    Don't go there!!

    from

First of all, if you expect a white sandy beach and blue water don't even think about this place - we were so disappointed we didn't even unpack and went looking for new accomodation the following morning.

To get to the hotel you have to go through a rough field track - wouldn't call it a road, it was so bumpy the taxi drivers used the beach instead. The beach was more of a field with sludgy brown water and grass. Not the pictures on the Club Fiji website!!!

The accomodation itself was what you would expect for what you pay but the resort itself was very very poor.

Food wasn't too bad but nothing spectacular.

Some of the staff were really nice others unhelpful and unhappy.

They tried to overcharge us for our room - saying it was 1150 fiji dollars when it was infact 850, luckily we had email confirmation of the correct price and after a great deal of hard work got it for the agreed price. Beware!!!

Also there were lots of wild dogs on the beach, not the hotels fault but they don't warn you about them. A tourist running on the beach was bitten badly on the legs and came to the hotel reception for assistance as he was bleeding quite a bit and needed hospital attention. The hotel staff were unwilling to help him and didn't want to know, they told him it was a 20 minute walk to the next hotel. This is disgusting and not a place you would want to be if anything bad happened. We ended up paying for a taxi for him which only cost 5 Fiji dollars.

Overall avoid at all costs and head for the Coral Coast on the South or head for one of the outer islands!

We went to stay at the Tanoa hotel close to the airport for our last night, much better allround! Better rooms, better staff, better food, better pool and facilities.

    Friendly staff, beautiful hideaway!

    from

Club Fiji is definitely a great place to spend time on when on holiday. Why? Awesome venue away from all the main city streets where you can relax with a lot of privacy as well as staff who are absolutely friendly. The food is great and the atmosphere is magnificant. The experience was fun and the activities definitly keep you ocupied (kayaking, volleyball etc. The outside bar is also briliant with an oceanview as you drink and socialise with other travellers. My partner and I stayed in a bure, but i would definitly recommend a villa or beachfront bure just for more excitment on your trip even though the bure are lovely to stay in. Just for a slight tip always wear your insect replelant asap because I got too excited and left it for two days and got bitten slightly(I persume most people already know that). Just for reference because sometimes you do get very excited at times and forget. Overall a great time, beautiful quiet venue with awesome staff to top off the vacation. Highly recommend!!

    Nice tucked away resort

    from

If you are looking for a place off the beaten path than Club Fiji is just the place. Clean bures, nice gardens with plenty of areas to sit and enjoy the scenery. However as described in other reviews there is no white sand beach but the water is warm and relatively clear if you are willing to trudge out a ways.

The service overall was quite good except for two notable exception. Lesli and Joey put new meaning to no hurry no worry. Since they generally served the food you had to come with patience rather than an appetite to the onsite restuarant. It was a shame because everyone else was friendly and helpful, but their good service was overshadowed by the terrible service received by these two.

Nonetheless, Club Fiji was enjoyable and the location on the Nadi Coast proved to be much nicer than the Coral Coast (where many of the big resorts sit) which receives constant winds.

    Its a treat

    from

yes this place is a paradise, you do drive down a rough road which makes the pleasure of arriving at such a beautiful place all the more of a surprise. the staff are very friendly, the bures are quite tidy and pleasant, the restaurant has quite a reasonable selection of food had typical prices but beautifully presented. we went as a family of 2 adults, 2 teenagers and 2 young kids and whilst it was a bit quiet it was relaxing and made us spend time together. it is small and friendly and you know where each other are. the staff make sure it is spotless and seem genuinely caring. i reccomend this place also for its location of being so close to the town Nadi and the mariner.

    Stay away

    from

Overall Club fiji resort was very diappointing, I came to fiji with a view of white sand and clear blue sea. What we got was completly opposite, a non-existant beach, it was more like muddy grassy sludge and the water was brown and full of plastic bags and food wrappers floating in it.

The Bures are not what they are lived up to be, as most of them the thatch has blown or rotted off and are now exposed tin roofs.

The 7night soft adventure package is a waste of money, there are not enough food vouchers included to cover all meals and the trips that are included are a waste of time, safer staying in bed.

the staff at the resort where very friendly as are all Fijians, apart from one big character, who one our 3rd night offered my partner and I drugs, which scared us and made us unsecure about the area.

The cleaning staff are brillant they, did their job well and where trust-worthy.

Club Fiji Resort is near nothing apart from the airport. If your considering Fiji don't consider Club Fiji, I would recommend an Island of the main Island of Fiji, like Beachcomber, Malamala etc.

    A disappointing experience!

    from

Club Fiji is a rip off! I know Fiji and Nadi having visited over 25 times and stayed at most Nadi hotels. What's wrong with Club Fiji? To get there you go down a rough rutty track, you wouldn't call it a road. When you arrive the park area is muddy and untidy and it just keeps getting worse. The rooms are untidy and dirty, the "restaurant" has some of the worst food I have ever had. I'm not a fussy eater having eaten all round the world but this is bad!

Service was non-existent - the staff were rude and unhelpful - a total lack of what most expect from Fijians.

The worst aspect is the high profile this property has purchased for it's self in advertising. You would think it was great. My wife had brought nice resort gear to wear to dinner - what a joke! Club Fiji is to be avoided at all costs. Be warned.

    Fabulous Resort and Value.......

    from

We stayed here for their 'week package' which was fabulous value. It was so cheap and included airport transfers, accommodation, meals and various activities/trips.

We stayed around Easter 2004. The weather was fabulous at this time.

Club Fiji has employed some of the nicest Fijians on the island. They resort is small, but very clean and tidy. We chose to pay more and stay in air conditioned rooms which were a nice size, cleaned every day and more that sufficient.

The food was fabulous and we loved staying here.

The only downside is that the beach is non existant. We still sunbaked on the sand, however, when the tide is out, IT IS OUT... You would have to walk a mile or so to touch water, which wasn't worth it. We preferred to have a dip in the pool when we were hot.

Also, the resort is in the middle of nowhere. There are no shops etc within walking distance. However, taxis are so cheap to get anywhere on the island.

Other than that, this hotel is great and we would stay there again without hesitation.

... I can’t get over! For my last day here I decided to mix it up a little
and go fishing. Fishing has always been something that only me and my Dad do,
but oh well he’ll get over it ha-ha.

I grabbed a time sheet the other day at port Denaru that was
there about fishing trips that they do just off Port. There was one at 12:00pm,
it was 11:30 now so I jumped straight on the bus and was off to Port Denaru. When

To see the world in another way, become myself again. As I arrived at the airport it was absolutely packed, I could barely walk without bumping into someone or tripping over someone else's bag. But really that wasn't worrying me I just needed to get on that plane. I checked in my bags and goods and was off for ...
