... of the year. The campground has many folks who have permanent sites and use them for summer and weekend retreats. All the neighbors were friendly and seem to have developed their own small community. Robin had prepared dinner the night we arrived and served her mom's famous homemade spaghetti. It was delicious. The guide I rode with today is Fritz. He's pretty great and so is his boat - he's lived in the area for a long while, knows this water very well, and his cell phone ring "What is Love" by Haddaway, so that is awesome.
We also saw a bald eagle - 'Merica.

... loves to drive so he didn't mind and it gave us a chance to see more of Wisconsin which we really enjoyed as well, so not a bad trade off. We just knew ahead of time our experience wouldn't be ideal. In the end though it was a fabulous part of our trip and we were glad we went.
