Day 122-125 A taste of the good life
... Clare or the Barossa without sampling the goods. And I like the stuff. I do. I just don't have the lingo down. So sample we did at Sevenhill, Skillogalee and the Last Word in the Clare. A long awaited return to the Clare Valley....
... growers, wine makers, marketers, small and large producers and walked away feeling very satisfied that we had seen a bit of the "real" Clare Valley. On top of this, we again got to taste some stunning wines and are getting the idea that many of the wine makers around here are really working hard to make something different, so have been amazed out how different a "simple" reisling can taste from place to place. Thats alot of old fossils
... Red Banks Conservation Park just down the road. not much else in the little town so we went out to the conservation park for a stroll.
no fossils found on our walk but some great scenery and strange land scape's - lots of little gorge like openings in the ground.
we saw our first echindna (Eddie) in ages - he just wandered through our camp - too ...

A "Gourmet week end" in Clare
... und werden auch nicht enttaeuscht. Auf einem kleinen Platz wimmelt es von Marktstaenden und Besuchern. Es gibt Olivenoel, Olivenpasten, Za'atarmischungen, Hausgemachte Teigwaren, Sauerteigbrot, Kuchen, Quittenpasten und vieles mehr...ueberall gibt es natuerlich kleine Degustierhaeppchen. Am besten gefaellt uns der Brotstand, aber vorerst lassen wir unseren Geldbeutel noch festverschlossen.
