      Bad Customer Relations

We were calling around for places to stay and we thought we would try Chula Vista. However, the gentleman on the phone at reservations was soooo rude and nasty, he turned me off to Chula forever!

Do Not Stay Here......go somewhere else

We reserved a room there for our anniversary. 4 nights to be exact. The first room they put us in was old, musty, cob webs on the ceiling, totally disgusting. After complaining we were upgraded to a fantasy suite.....the only difference was that it was a bit newer, but the bathroom floor was black and so was the toilet. It was disgusting.

Don't bother with the dinner/show tickets either. You may as well go eat at Ponderosa and save your money. The show was great.....the dinner was awful.Dont waste your money.......stay somewhere else...

Very family oriented. The grandkids really enjoyed themselves

We liked the V.I.P. rooms that we had for our stay, and enjoyed the outdoor water park, but also learned that for $35 per person we were able to purchase a one day pass to Kalahari, which we did and we were very glad to get back to the nice quiet and rooms at Chula Vista.

Do NOT stay in a waterpark room.......SOOOOOO gross.....needs to be torn down!!!!

First of all, Do NOT stay by the waterpark....this area is old and not to mention way overpriced. If you want to enjoy your vacation, you want to stay in the tower. Our Room # was 194, it was so gross, it smelled like had not been cleaned, I called the front desk to complain, they said someone would be ther to clean it in 30 min,.....sorry, but my husband marched straight up to the front desk, where everyone was checking in and starting yelling that our room was so filthy, we we're about ready to cancel or vacation. They upgraded us ( at no charge!!!) to a Tower room where the surroundings were atleast suitable. Overall, stay was good. We did not eat there because everything is quite pricey, (in ex: pbj w/ fries was $5.00. ) Probably wouldn't stay here again! Also, outdoor water slide shut down (green one)......

Pay the extra $$$ or forget it

We were expecting nicer hotel rooms for this price - I would imagine that the rooms in the main hotel are better, but we were in the motel like building in the back. There was alot of noise from the people walking around above us. Also, the room could have been cleaner - especially the bathroom and we had some wallpaper peeling off the walls. Chula Vista needs to re-decorate the rooms in the back or lower the price. The pool areas were very nice - with lots of slides and activities for the kids. They give you wristbands for the pool area for both days on a 1 night stay. There is a very large hot tub indoors that stays hot, even with the waterfall running into it and kids are allowed in the hot tubs. If we were staying longer, would pay the extra money to stay in the Junior Suites in the main building, but pass it up if you can only afford the shanties in the back.

DONT GO! YOU Will REGRET IT!!!@!!

In May 2003, I went with my family to spend our Memorial Day weekend at Wisconsin Dells. We decided to stay at Chula Vista as it promises a beautiful site and nice comfortable rooms. What a disappointment!!!!! I warn you do not go there, even if its the last resort available! When we arrived to check in, there was a couple complaining. They wanted to shorten their stay and leave a day early because they were so disgusted. Yet, the manager would not give them a refund for their last night. Well, I got my key (room #189) I opened the door and the smell of urine/dirty close hit my nose. I really tried to think positive but that was useless, the place was disgusting. The carpet had stains everywhere, the wall paper was peeling, there were two refrigerators, one didnt work and they both smelled! The bathroom was just plain awful; the tiles had black oozy stuff everywhere. I sat down on the bed and cried. My family and I left the room because several of us started to itch. I went to the manager and he looked appalled, he could careless. I upgraded to one of the suites in the main building. Although, the room was cleaner, I was upset because I had to pay the difference. In addition, to use the name Chula Vista, which means a beautiful site in Spanish is a disgrace to the Hispanic community. The resort itself could not uphold this name, as the resort does not provide you with peace and tranquility. I suggest they change their name to Surrounding Chula Vista, because that is the only promise that they can maintain. Also for the price that you are paying, you might as well stay at Holiday Inn. If you want to see the trees and the river, just take a boat cruise and you will be satisfied. M Martinez.

      Pretty Bad-gross bathroom

We stayed at the Chula Vista resort 2 years in a row. I won't go back after the 2nd visit. Our bathroom shower curtain was disgusting and smelled big time like urine. This was in the regular hotel rooms outside by the small water park. I complained to the front desk and they could care less and never responded to my written letter faxed from home the next day. The previous year we were in a suite in the larger high-rise building; there was no comparison. It was not 4 stars, but better than a regular or standard room. Kind of getting run down and dirtier every year.

Chula Vista doesn't have what it promises to it's customers!

Even though I am from Wisconsin, I still believe that the Chula Vista

Hotel in Wisconsin Dells was not the best place to go on a family

vacation. We went there, because they described a great indoor

water/recreational area, but when we got down there, we were quick to

discover that they had not finished construction like they told us they

had. So instead of using there "great indoor water area," we used there

upsetting little area. There was a tarp on one wall and the place was

not even very clean. The only "view" you got from the windows was a

steep embankment, which is not really what you would call a great view.

We went down to Wisconsin Dells expecting a great vacation with our

friends and it turned up to be the not so great vacation that we

wanted. Not that we are totally bashing the place though, because we

did like their food, even though by the time we got down to the

restaurant, the food was almost gone already.

      Mint Quality for Low Price

We stayed at the Chula Vista once over Easter week and once last October.

It is truly a real hotel. Wisconsin Dells is full of glorified motels with waterparks. Chula Vista is an honest to goodness hotel with great food, restaurants, room service, massage service, pools, gift shop and even a craft room where the kids can do projects while mom gets her work-out done in the fitness room.

The touch that I loved so much was that each and every morning the newspaper was at the door of our room.

The only thing I did not like was that one of the elevators was not working for a few days and it made us have to wait longer than normal.

It is wonderful place....motel prices but hotel resort quality...and LIFEGUARDS at the pools.

      Fun at Chula Vista

We stayed at the Chula Vista Resort for the second time in mid August of 2002. We had a good time once again. Since we were last here I believe two years ago, they have improved the out door water park and put in some wicked water slides. They are nice rides but a bit scary for some I think. The white slide is shaped like a U and you go down a steep slope and go way up the other side and it was great scary fun! It was a great time especially for my eight year old. He wasn't tall enough to go on the green slide however. A lot of kids couldn't. I think you have to be 60 inches tall. I did not get the reason for that requirement. They also improved the inside waterpark a bit. There is a real nice hot tub there with water dropping down on top of you in certain parts if you wish. I liked it. The indoor park is down under the hotel but has a walk out to a big patio with a bunch of tables and benches you can overlook the Wisconsin river which is beautiful. This resort is unique because it is away from all the hussle and bussle which is a big part of Wisconsin Dells. You can get rooms with private overlooks with nice views of big old growth pine trees and the river. We stayed at one of these rooms in the main resort the last time and liked it alot. This time around we stayed in one of their motel like buildings along the river and the room was a bit bigger and alot easier to get to our car which came in handy. It seems a little more low rent in that part but it did save me about forty bucks a night. This section does have a walk way over looking the river and chairs to relax in. My wife and I took advantage and I wish I was there right now. We ate one time at one of their restaurants and it was good. WE will go back there. Just a side note. To Chula Vista...Please do something about those gray colored slides. I could walk down them faster then ride them. My arms got tired pushing myself down two of the three slides there. I really enjoyed the pool you fall into though. It's nice

We drove back to the Amish area and bought some homemade breads and preztel at Pleasant View Bakery which is located in the basement of a Amish farm house in Dalton, Wi. There were many Amish ladies baking the bread as we were in the store. We then drove through the countryside and found a vegetable stand ...

What a beautiful day! We drove down to Madison, Wi and then decided we liked the countryside better. Madison is a nice city though. We saw so many beautiful farms and small country churchs driving through small country towns. We have seen many flocks of wild turkeys and then we drove into Amish country which is ...

... It was only us and two crew on the sailboat. We headed south, made it around Horseshoe Island, and tacked back and forth in the increasing wind back to harbor. I'd asked how deep the keel went- 5 feet was the answer. At one point the captain say, "ok, we need to tack, we are quickly running out of real estate". I looked at the gage that tells us how deep the water is and it said ...

... Ended up never depositing it. I guess this late in the year they don't care too much. We put our sticker out at every park but the only one where it was checked was Governor Dodge later today-and we aren't even sure they noticed they just waved us through. No one at Devils Lake or even Peninsula was there to notice if we had it.

... about the geology of the area, very different from what I'm more familiar with. While I didn't get too much out of this stop it was one piece of a puzzle. At some point in my life I've learned about the Wisconsin glaciation, but it was a whole new learning process to actually see it, such as the terminal moraine at Devil's Lake, drumlins and the kettle lakes. Then there ...
