Our first stop...Kathmandu

After a long and tiring journey, we finally arrived in Kathmandu to what can only be described as complete and utter chaos. The first thing to hit you is the pollution. The worst pollution I have previouly encountered was in Havana but this is much, much worse. Within minutes your throat feels as if you have smoked 20 cigarettes and you just feel dirty. The second thing you note is the traffic which appears to be going in all possible directions at the same time. There is no way you would wan...

It's a grand feeling- I have full run of the resort ; momentarily, I am its sole guest, so the resort and this view is all mine! The resort house is an old Newari house that's been renovated. It sports 3 rooms...

Today before checking into Chobhar, it'll be my tourist day! I usually like to dedicate one day to "knocking the entire TO SEE" list o...

He has converted an old house into a beautiful sanctuary and is currently working on a second house next door. He is the owner of Chober Cafe and Resort. A haven for the expats who want to get away for a Saturday brunch. It is also on the cycling route for those keen cyclists who pdal to the top of the surrounding hills. The Jagaannath Temple was interesting with erotic tantric scenes carved into the wooden roof struts, some of them medievil and rather exotic. Taleju Temple was the most magnificent to look at with a gothic looking entrance and standing on a 12 stage plinth, reaching more than 35 metres high, access denied.

Another interesting building is the Kumari Bahal which is where Nepal's current living goddess (the kumari ...
