... I have no other choices.
The flight was on time (this is the only leg we had to purchase as the rest of the ticket was frequent flier award) and we arrived in Bangkok with our driver holding a sign with my name on it waiting to transfer us from Bangkok airport to the Hyatt in Hua Hin.
Hua Hin is where the Thai King live most of the ...
... boxing in Thailand ( I saw an exhibition match at a Thai food festival in Battersea Park). The Bangkok venue is the size of Wembley arena and takes at least an hour to return from - a bit like seeing a west end show while living in Stoketonia. Hua Hin stadium was much more intimate. We shared a table with 3 guys from Calgary ...
Hua Hin, Thailand valetroyAs is only to be expected travelling with Jon and his bl**dy computer, which is too precious to leave unattended in Blighty, the aforementioned laptop fell from his bag onto the road as we were trying to negotiate a taxi to the bus station to come to Hua Hin. Thankfully the laptop survived (unlike the one which suffered a similar fate in a carpark in Coin. Spain - it's monitor died).
So ...
... with me. We were quite high up and sitting in a metal chair contraption with a token safety belt, which would have done absolutely nothing if we had been thrown off. I reckon we were about 10 feet off the ground. We wandered around the village and finally ended up walking through a pool. The water was quite deep and came up to the elephants head. They probably quite enjoyed that part of the trip as the weather was hot and sunny so it would have ...
Hua Hin, Thailand busafam... quite modern, they had interesting stores of Thai products outside and a normal mall inside. And there's Starbucks! Going back, we had difficulty getting a cab, this was because everybody else was hailing one. We didn't know there was such a thing as ...
Hua Hin, Thailand chloee_05... and we are mistaken for a pizza loving red-neck. How very awful. Trying to put that embarrassment behind us we walked to where on the map I though the bazaar is. I'm not sure if we did actually find it, but we did find lots of markets, including a different night market which had lots of great stuff. We bought quite a bit more here, the when we were tired we headed back to a spot where we had discovered foot massages for just 200 baht. In the middle of the massage ...

Pattaya, Thailand lynnthaimaguire... to one of the female workers. so back to the counter i went where i was quickly issued a bank draft in a very professional manner. there was a minor hiccup as there was a typo in the name of my landlord and she had to make the check twice but she got it right the second time. that done I went over to the 7-11 to pay my internet bill. over here you can pay bills at the 7-11. it's called counter service. say "countaar sarveees" with accent and show them the bill. my dsl ...
Cha-am, Thailand soidogTuesday 11th June G'day all After the exploring and site seeing of the past week, we decided on a rest day today, which sort of worked out that way. We started off with a really late breakfast after watching one of the DVD's we had bought, "The Fantastic Four" in bed over coffee. After breakfast it was onto the pool for 3-4 hours of relaxing, swimming and reading. After a few hours I got a bit restless (the kids know I cannot sit still too long) and spied ...
Hua Hin, Thailand bandglittle... I had a huge plateful of tasty King Prawns done in butter and garlic and then we went off to a bar for some drinks and after a number of Changs sloped off to the fleapit. The next morning Nee and Bert made with some local knowledge, having a car pick us up and take us to a beautiful beach a few miles South down the coast, where they normally hang out a few days in the week. It was a sweeping bay walled in by limestone cliffs at one end and at the other a huge gold Buddha on the top of ...
