... gotten to...over rough, gravel roads. It is a town of about 50 people that live there from Memorial Day until the end of October when the snows shut it down for the winter. I looked it up in our Atlas and it was not there. I really don't think the citizens want a lot of people to know about it. There are some cabins there and that's about it. However, it looked like there were a lot of people ...

... br> When we got to Creed we stopped in town to walk around...and of course had to purchase the obligatory souvenirs! After our town crawl, we stopped at The Dog House for lunch. It advertises itself as the Best Little Dog House in Creed. Since I think it was the ONLY hot dog restaurant in town...

From Creed we drove up the Bachelors Loop Trail to the Last Chance Mine. All of us had been there before, but it is such a fun place to go to. I bought ...

... to them. Lovely. As we continued our drive we started to climb in altitude. When we crossed the Leta Pass, it was 9413 feet in altitude...and 71 degrees!! After we drove through that pass we traveled through a huge valley consisting of flat terrain with foothills to either side. This was the San Luis Valley. In the distance we could occasionally see a few of the overwhelmingly big mountains that make up the Rocky Mountain range. On the way, I took a picture from the ...
