The pool and outside area is lovely. Unfortunatly when we stayed building work was going on so it was quite noisy. Outside town so be prepared for quite a walk into town. Staff need to offer better customer experience.

Nice location, an oasis in the big red desert. Very good restaurant. Rooms are very plain, but tidy and clean. For the remote location, it's a very, very nice place.

Well an early start to get our flight to Alice Springs, the mini bus picked us up and then two New Zealand ladies who had come for the weekend to see the Eagles! Also one of their son's worked in Bristol. At the airport it is all self service and you have to print your own luggage labels which is fine if it works, at every stage ours did not and …

Bags out at 5:50 AM for airport departure. Glad I got day to night contacts that you can keep in for 30 days for this trip. Saves time. Another travel hint: I'm not a big breakfast person so eat something light and keep a piece of fruit for mid morning. Can also make trail mix from dried fruit and nuts at oatmeal bar. (Keep some ziplock sandwich …

So much for getting a photo without (many) people in it. Ah well, what can you do. Using a wide angle lens means that they become but specks in the photo anyway, and even a 10mm wide angle cannot capture the full expanse of the Cathedral anyways.

From the Cathedral it is back to the car and back to the ...

... no sooner than Springsteen finished "Blown Away" than I spied a willy-willy crossing the road ahead. I stopped for a pic but it didn't really capture. Later I drove through a smaller one that crossed the road as I passed by. I'd like to say it was incredibly scarey and dangerous. But in truth, nothing really happened. I arrived in Alice in the late arvo and made my way to the Todd Tavern located in the central CBD where I'd booked a room online - at $80, I wasn't ...

Arrived in Alice Springs mid afternoon or should I say, coasted into Alice. Upon leaving Tennant Creek in the morning, the fuel range available was sufficient to cover the distance. However, we didnt factor in travelling at 130kmh which used more fuel so think we had ...
