The resort is run by a very friendly family. Althought the amenities are basic, service is excellent.

Cherrapunjee gets bucketfuls of rainfall in the wet season - May-October. In the months of Feb and Mar, it is actually bone dry. When I went, there wasn't a cloud in the sky and not a drop of water to be seen. The great state of Oregon, ...

... By this point we'd made your plans to head straight to Cherrapunji absolutely clear but they wanted to find us a hotel in Shillong on account of the fact they were convinced that there wouldn't be a Sumo to Cherrapunji at this hour and even if there was there'd be nowhere for us to stay once we got there. I knew that there was a cheap place to stay and that there was a Sumo because the internet told me and everyone knows the internet ...

Today, after staying in the cleanest village in Asia I am heading to the wettest place in the world. But first my driver insists that I visit a waterfall close to the Bangladesh border. Who am I to argue? After parking up at a small village I head out in the direction given. After about an hour of walking and climbing up and down very slippery steps I reach the waterfall. Was it worth the effort? It certainly ...
