... was not because I loved the city so much that I couldn't drag myself away. As many of you will know, I discovered that I had a Hookworm in my foot. Yup, that's right: a worm! Best bet is that during the bathing of the elephants in Chiang Mai, a Hookworm that tend to hang around in dogs manage to wriggle into my foot via a cut on my toe. He then wormed his way (no pun intended) down to the sole of my foot, causing a fair bit of pain when I walked and a whole lot of itching. ...

... any time, so Dave has been happy. One day we took a tour by Orion Tours to Ang Thong Marine Park, a bunch of small islands in the Gulf of Thailand. The tour was great, with snorkeling, kayaking hiking and swimming. Oh, and plenty of eating each time we got back on the boat. And the food was delicious, so I was happy. ... pretty quiet. We found Blue Marine bungalows fairly quickly and once we had been given our keys we sat on the beach and chatted for a bit. It was here that we bumped into Dan, a HGV driver from Liverpool. We immediately hit it off with him. He had been travelling round Australia with his missus. The next day I took the 1pm ferry from Big Buddha Pier in Koh Samui to Koh Pha Ngan. The ferry takes 1 hour and cost 200 Baht (4). On arrival I walked from the pier to the hotel where I had a reservation for 4 nights. I stayed at the Friendly Resort in Haad Rin.
