Lola Island in Vona Vona Lagoon is our hideaway for the next few days. As the only guests at the resort we have the entire island to ourselves.

Life here consists of swimming, kayaking and snorkelling. We soon see the 'local' Black Tip sharks. Swimming in the shallows they appear to be on beach patrol, making sure that our slice of paradise is not ...

For our surface interval we lunched on a deserted tropical atoll. This was the picture postcard Pacific island of one’s imagination. With coconut trees, warm tropical waters and excellent snorkeling – think large shoals of yellow stripe and a black tip shark – all readily available.

Our final dive was with the Eagle Manta rays. So graceful they gently float through the water ...

... wreck of a transport vessel. As the vessel looms out of the darkness a certain eeriness descends. Whilst this wreck is no Titanic it is strange to see this manmade reef slowly being absorbed into the underwater landscape of the reef. Home now to a multicolored cornucopia of reef fish.
