    We awoke at 5:00 am to a winter wonderland and the news that Highway 400 at Barrie was closed in both directions. Our departure was delayed as an alternate route was worked out in order to gather all our passengers. Stops were made in Orillia, Barrie, Bradford (along Yonge Street to get there) and Vaughan where we picked up Bill Watts, our driver and Tony Stewart's biggest fan.     ... in the States. Gas $30.80 (2.54/gal) - WOOT - again! 3:00 - a truck about 5 or 6 car lengths ahead shed a tire. There was a cloud of smoke and an unbelievable stink and the tire whipped off the highway to our right. That is as close to a tire incident that we ever want to see.
