... we traversed the entire city of La Fortuna, which is quite small with a population of 20,000. The town was destroyed by a volcano in 1968 and was rebuilt as a city for tourists. On our walk, we saw lots of hotels and even more tour organizers. We appreciate all the menus being in English and everywhere accepting dollars, but we also wish things were slightly more authentic.
