Yes, Mesquite is outside Death Valley NP... but we're going back to the subject, anyway.
This morning, when I was writing about all the colors in Death Valley, well we hadn't seen the best of it! If you ever get to Death Valley--and I urge you to put it on your must-see list--do NOT miss Zabriskie Point! There's a parking area, where we …
Mesquite. What can be said? Baby Las Vegas? Empty baby Las Vegas. Must be lots of snowbirds here, flown now from summer desert heat. While I did an errand, Tom put $3 in a slot machine. When I caught up with him he'd turned it into 13.50. He wanted to cash out. I discouraged him and his luck promptly went south. Went as low as $5. But then turned …
Gerald got a break from the road today while his occupants spent the day laying out by the pool.
Neil then treated the girls to some delicious steaks for dinner and then on to the casino for some gambling. All the occupants got $10 is free play from the casino so spent their free money and then watched a band play until early morning. They …
... We had no intention of stopping but spotted a sign for Hollywood of the West Museum so had to call in. I didn't realise that famous movies and shows such as Gunsmoke and The Outlaw Josie Wales were made in Kanab and surrounding areas. The museum was free and was interesting as they had props from quite a few movies. A lot of the props look really authentic but are made from fiberglass or foam. There was a shop attached (there always is) and the ...
What a good day. When we set off at 7am (we'd gained an hour because we weren't on mountain time in Arizona ), the temperature was 79 degrees. We drove over the Lake Powell dam, past the Vermillion cliffs, and by the time we got to the very windy Grand Canyon, some 5,000 feet higher than we were in Page, the temperature was only 59 degrees. The views were spectacular! We did a little walk to ...

Historical Traveler Reviews CasaBlanca Hotel, Casino, Golf & Spa Mesquite
Winning at the Casablanca
Had a very nice stay at the Casablanca. Rooms were good. Food was mixed- some very good / one not good. Casino is small but I won so it was great. Drove to Utah and Zion NP. Tremendous drive-hard to concentrate on road with such fabulous scenery.
Bargain Rate - Bargain Property
Casablanca has a nice spa and the best massage therapist I have ever encountered. The formal dining restaurant was excellent. The room was a place to sleep certainly nothing more than you would find at Motel 6.
Not what I read
Not sure if I went to the same place as everyone else. The breakfast buffet wasn't edible, the rooms were nice but the walls were paper thin and the screaming kids woke up at 5:00 am although they made less noise than the screaming parents. It seemed like there were more kids than adults, still can't figure out why. The golf was cheap but for a reason...... Been once would never go again.
Casablanca is great
I just got back from the Casablanca resort in Mesquite. For those of you that remember "old" Las Vegas, you will love this place. It is just like Vegas used to be. The rooms are clean and big. The pool is great, even has a little water slide. The dealers are friendly in the casino, and share in the chit chat. The 9.99 buffet with prime rib and crab legs was better than any in Vegas. They had a nice little nightclub with an R & B show. All in all, for $39 a night, you can't beat it.
Great golf package
We stayed for 2 nights in July 2003 at this resort. Great golf package for my spouse... . We tried to use the pool in the evenings (the slide was closed and no towels for the pool area). If there weren't enough lifeguards the slide was closed and the waterfall was turned off (it didn't look the brochure - very misleading). Also, the hot tub was broken - did not get to use. The room was clean (long hike from the parking area to the lobby entrance). I recommend the golf package, but would not use this hotel for swimming or any family activities.
Great time at mesquite
from 7/14/03 to 7/17/03 we stayed at the casablana resort. i played golf at the plams, wolfcreek and coral canyon canyon at st george utah. this is my secound trip in 3 yrs. its a great place to play golf and relax without the crowds of las vegas. casablanca offers golf packages that we use. in the summer the rates are discounted because of the heat. im from texas and the heat dosent bother me and my friends. i definitely reccomend this trip if you like desert golf.
Injoyed the stay
injoyed the stay - great pool BAD craps table - I should have spent more time at the pool
Awesome resort!! HUGE clean up-to-date rooms. Nice pool facility. Great resturants. So much to do... golf, tennis, horseback ride, gamble. Only an hour and a half away from Vegas. Nothing more to ask for!
Great place, great price
Great place to stay. Clean, beautiful, & the breakfast buffet is excellent - nothing missing! Much more relaxing than Las Vegas. Oh, and the rates are great!
We've been there many times, its beautiful, close your eyes and you think you're in the Bahamas.
