... nobody else around and hear these amazing birds calling to each other as the sun is setting.
The second day of the trip we went searching for some fish and instead found Red-Breasted Mergansers and Common Golden-eyes. Travis was able to photograph them at close range. He even got a picture of one of them pooping! HAHA We thought we had made it to Cherokee Lake which is supposed to be a really good fishing lake. However, we didn't look at the map often enough ...
... a wonderful morning. It was a foggy day, with lots of moisture in the air, at times hard to tell if it was spray from the falls or drizzle from the sky. In the end, love the way the falls show through the mist in the photos.
... I had exactly one tape: a mix of Heart (side A) and the Doobie Brothers (B) that my dad made years ago. Until now.
But my favorite moment was seeing a familiar Alan Jackson one (I had the CD once), pulling it out and seeing a handwritten label overlay: "CALLING MOOSE" because the actual tape in the case was an album of moose calls. Northern Minnesota!
