Captain Jak's Cabanas Placencia

Decided to make our way straight to the beach in Palencia, a small Caye on the Caribbean sea. Placencia is a decent enough place to kick back for a day and a night and being at the end of a peninsula in the middle of nowhere was a neat feeling. Again, the tiny grocery store here in this village of 2,000 is Chinese owned and operated. There is even a Chinese restaurant if you need a sweet and sour fix. Sorry Mr. Wong ...

... The weather has been great, hot and humid as it should be. luckily pools and beaches have not been far away. Whilst sitting under our little camp straw roof, the Swiss girls suddenly spotted a head sticking out of the straw and yes, there it was a 1 and a half metre length poisonous yellow and green colour snake!!!! ... The water was 82 degrees. Subsequent dives were at Laughing Bird and Crawl Cayes. The walls are filled with life. Laughing Bird is a sanctuary, so be extra cautious about where your fins are.
