... at Robinson park. Laura is still in the inflatable cast and so we put together the Sea Eagle kayak and took one of our smaller one man kayaks for Jerry.
It was a great day and we had found a good place to hold the boat steady to allow safe entry cast and all! Paddled across the river to the side with very little settlement and then crossed back over and headed back home.
Nice place to be.
First stop we checked out the WW2 planes and got to see them drag one out and start it up... Fun Times. Then we went to a pre-civil war army fort and the gentleman running the place made sure we knew it was called the "war of northern oppresion"!! I guess some people are still bitter about that war! ...
... Mexican Kitchen. Great food, hit the spot. Walked back to the Global Warmer and saddled up for the trip on into Santa Fe.
We drove along the vast undeveloped spaces of east central New Mexico. Laura saw a pronghorn antelope and we both saw some raptors.
The closer one gets to Santa Fe the more dramatic and beautiful the landscape becomes. One travels from less than a ...

They are really a treat to watch.
They were taking turns carrying in nest building materials.
Later will be the real treat: watching the young ones trying to get up their courage to fly!
Made it in to Austin and continued with our errands getting everything ready.
Decided to spend the night in our camper at glorious McKinney Falls State Park. So peaceful.
... didn't know me. Felt like I walked into a Thanksgiving dinner at the wrong house. Man, did I wish I could disappear. Eventually they hand me my stuff, I go outside, eat quickly, and leave. Back on the road again.
110 hot and windy miles today. With a decent day tomorrow, I should break under the 1000 to go mark. Looking for milestones, missing home. Inching closer. Thanks to all those following the story, and to those leaving comments. Keeps me feeling ...
