More Missouri

We saw more of rural Missouri today. Our first stop was Wilson's Creek National Battlefield, which was the first major Civil War battle west of the Mississippi. It also saw the first Union general killed in combat. This site is very similar to the one we saw yesterday...driving tour with several stops to get out and look around. But, honestly, the land at a battlefield is just generally ...

... in Grove, Oklahoma, a tourist spot to our surprise! However, we aren't talking Atlanta touristy, we are talking the small country town next to Atlanta that has two thrift stores and a Walmart touristy... I am not sold on fact this is a touristy town clearly! Back to our day, one of my favorite things about fact that we had three states today is the fact that Ali has pledged to do 100push ups per state, and still had 50 to ...

... I was met by Melba Rigg, who is nicknamed Melba the mouth and can talk at a hundred miles and hour barely taking a breath! I passed over the last remaining Marsh Arch bridge on Route 66, the Rainbow bridge on the way to Baxter Springs. The name Marsh Arch comes from the architect who designed them. Very soon I was out of Kansas and arrived in Miami, Oklahoma where I had what is likely to be my one and only burger of the trip at the independent burger joint Waylan's Ku-Ku. It was ...

... were getting - mine was ok but Joy ended up with 2 plates of food!
Lost 66 a couple of times but most of the day it has been running close to the Interstate. 250 miles travelled today as we had a bit of a slow start.
We are now in Kansas having left Cuba this morning, passing through Lebanon and Carthage. Also another Springfield and this one is the home of the Simpsons as the signs said so!
