... with a lovely owner. Once our room was ready we had a much needed nap and but then woke to realise we'd left our trusty walking shoes on the bus this morning as we were so tired when we got off we totally forget to pick them up. We got hold of the bus company who said the bus was heading back to Medan, so we knew there'd be no chance we'd be seeing them again! We mourned our loss greatly.
... no asphalt and big holes. We passed a stretch where part of the
road had broken down and the bus moved leaning very close to the abyss

With the views of the lake surrounded by cloud-topped mountain slopes, you could have been in the Lake District, at least for the sections where you couldn't see any buildings, people, mopeds or buffalos. After ...
... We headed into the tunnels and found the experience weird and creepy. When walking through the town, all of the locals would say hello and ask us for pictures. We felt famous. For food in the night, we headed back to the same street stall as last night, we both had noodle soup and again it was so tasty. After food we headed back to the hotel for an early night and a comfortable sleep. Beds are ...
