      It took us 2 days to go from Yellowstone to South Lake Tahoe We are staying at the Ric******* RV Park. It is very nice and right on the shore nestled in the pines. No Internet and no way to get DirecTV through the pines, but, we get ME TV over the air. We are eating at the Beacon Bar and Grill have their famous fish and chips and a few Margaritas …

      Relaxing morning, good breakfast then steady walk down to the lake....

      Had an unexpected stop on the way to the lake when the Renaissance Faire parade came walking past. The Renn Faire is in town this weekend so the campsite and the town is filled with people dressed up in either medieval costumes or as pirates!...it's fab as everyone …

      This morning we left the clouds of Bodega Bay and headed off to Lake Tahoe.

      The drive was beautiful as we past by Sonoma and Napa again then around Sacramento, past Folsom (didn't get to see the prison unfortunately - but both started singing Johnny Cash songs here!), through the El Dorado National Forest - which was stunning, and finally …

      ... They are cut into dark chocolate brown stone up to about five feet in height. The lighter the newer the cuttings as we learned. Originally the area was a peninsula jutting out into a prehistoric lake dated back to about 12, 000 years ago. I got a few pictures which will appear on Flickr when I get them editted.


      Before arriving in Fallon, we passed their Naval Air Station. There are three bomb ranges ...

      ... fell asleep for about an hour. When I got up we decided to go for an early dinner. We drove to a BBQ restaurant that had an ad in the local Tahoe Guide. We drove about 5 miles only to find out that they were not open on Mondays. Wasn’t that nice of them to include that in their ad??? We did stop at a BevMo to see if they had some Bacon Burbon, but to our luck they did not, but the sales clerk said he had Bacon soda. We had to buy it ...
