This is our last entry and our last day in Cefalu.
Yesterday, the boys and I explored Cefalu after a day at the pool.
Happy 4th of July and Happy Birthday Alex! Today, we will celebrate Alex's 14th birthday at the pool and then will pack for our 2 day trip home.

Set along the Tyrrhenian coast, Cefalu is a former fishing village and is now a beach town.
Duomo-this Norman Cathedral opens up to the center of town. Inside the cathedral you find stunning Mosaics completed in 1148.
La Rocca- in Cefalu's heyday, this was the site of the acropolis of Cephaloedium, with a temple dedicated to Hercules on top.

... be dramatic. But first of all it, was buffet style and I hate buffets. All of the food on the buffet was cold and I don't even know what most of it was, but I tried a lot of different things and everything was just gross. I ended up making a salad, which was fine and had a couple of desserts. Even the wine was not good. But the night took a turn after that and the Italian musicians came through and played music for us and then ...
... walked, and walked a bit more to reach the hotel which was situated on the beach. Falling asleep to the sound of waves breaking on the shore more than made up for the long walk.
The sun is shining and feels great, so I spend the majority of the morning just enjoying the harbor, listening to the waves, walking around and taking pictures. The film Cinema Paradiso was filmed here.
After some time enjoying "la dolce far niente" ...
... but overall the building itself was more interesting to me. I think it's so interesting how everyone in the town comes out to walk around at the same time everyday. I noticed it in Spain too, that they like to window shop, and I guess walking around is just a pastime here.
