Misty forest trails and a weekend out with friends
We reached Mahabaleshwar through Panchgani at around 7AM, into almost zero visibility due to the cold mist all over the place. Wading through the mist and a barrage of taxi drivers and agents of the resort/hotels soliciting our business, we made way to the Mahabaleshwar bus stand. We were to take a bus to old Mahabaleshwar, where we had booked a room in hotel Savera.
Not minding the disgusted ...
Sunrise at Kas and the dabdabai experience
... two were too fast. By the time we would spot and be ready to click they were gone.
Anyways we satisfied ourselves with the fact that we saw them :)
When we started to see the orange of the sun we got to a clear nice view point and stopped the vehicle and got off.
We were ready with the camera.
The most STUNNING sunrise I have ever witnessed.
The expanse of the plateau, the clear orange hue in the sky. ...
Bamnali and Kaas
... there and suddenly they were now.
We started walking the plateau in search of flowers we had not clicked the previous day.
We had to wait for uncle to meet us at the plateau with our breakfast and he was to show us the Barmani flower( a nice bright red flower) and tell us the arrangements for the launch.
A quick half an hour in the plateau and we met uncle and he took us around to other parts of the plateau for ...
Yeh jagah hai Khaas :)
... we wanted to take, so we head straight out to the plateau. We met Mr Nulkar there after a while , our host and guide for the next two days.
He took us straight to show some nice flower species. The most prominent specie in the plateau was of course the Smithia or the Donald duck flower.
By the weekend we went, the plateau's spread of the flowers had much reduced. we had pretty much reached the end of the season. But uncle promised to show us ...
