... and I may have missed something. Nobody spoke English or German, so the whole process was a major mission, and on top of that, I think we ended up paying way too much to get through, but we did get through after four hours, and that's what counts at the end of the day....but, our day was just starting....

We started with a park and palace that belonged to the last king of Egypt, King Farouk. We could not tour his palace, because it is for the president and visiting dignitaries. The beaches were packed with locals. The beaches looked nice and I wish we would have had time for a swim.

... the town, stopping at another cafe for drinks. I have been wanting to try a Sheesha since we got here and I finally got my chance. It was odd at first but easy to get the hang of and although I could taste the apple flavour I requested, it was not strong. We also had the nicest lemon juice I have ever tasted and we all had a good chat. Our group is very good and we all get on well. It is a shame they are all considerably older though.
