Historical Traveler Reviews of Boscolo Hotel Park Nice
Honeymoon Stay
from A TripAdvisor Member
We stayed at this hotel for our honeymoon. Overalll pretty good hotel!
The free breakfast spread is worth the stay by itself. My wife still talks about it! The rooms were O.K., water pressure wasn't the best.
Most people of the staff spoke english, which was a big help for us.
Beware of the parking, if renting a car. They advertise that they have free hotel parking, that is a lie! We had to pay for parking for a week. Besides that the stay was great. Also, the location is wonderful!!
Weather cold and damp but had a great time

We stayed at the Boscolo Park Hotel, wonderful location. They are renovating so if your room is not good ask for another room. It is close to Old Town and in walking distance to shopping. It was an interesting time to be in the South of France because of the holiday. We were there over New Year's. Lot's of things to see. We rented a car for part of our time there which made it convenient to go to other places.Nice is convenient to a lot of other places vs staying in Cannes.
Great location, 2.5 star hotel with a 4 star rating

Ok this hotel is really fabulously located. Next to the Le Meridien casino and Rue Massena shopping areas and a 2 minute walk to Promenade de Anglais, beaches and the flower market in the old town. BUT, the hotel does need of an overhaul. The lobby is nice and spotless but when you go to the hallways, you see peeling wallpaper in many places. Too bad since their wallpaper is the embossed and expensive type but they're not just maintaining it to be at par with 4 star hotels. I'd say the staff was pretty rude for the most part. We got a call at 11pm waking us all up saying that there was a problem with our expedia reservation. All in all , our experience with their staff was very sub par. They can speak English but their French snobiness and lack of sympathy for international travelers were quite low. In all, I would book myself at Le Meridien next time I'm on vacation in Nice again or the Golden Tulip .
Good Hotel, Fantastic Location

This hotel was in a superb location, near to everything to see and do in Nice. The staff were friendly and helpful, and our large, spotless room (albeit with a dodgy coloured carpet..) overlooked the sea and park from one of our two balconies! Breakfast was excellent - plenty of choice of hot/ cold options on the buffet.
The hotel seemed really quiet (surely a bonus), though it was a little odd that it didn't have its own bar (not a major issue for us as there is no shortage of places in the locality - and the sister hotel 100yds up the road has a great rooftop bar!)
I don't understand where the negative vibes in the other reviews stem from....
We Loved This Hotel...

My husband and I loved Nice but it was made even better by staying at a fabulous hotel. I cannot think of hotels in nice in a better position for both the beach, restaurants and the old town and the superior rooms are so spacious, overlooking the sea are a must.
Nice Stay In Nice

A smiling quality, consistant during our whole stay: in room service but also in breakfast and at the reception desk where everybody was helpful during the stay. We appreciated the quality and the choice of the buffet breakfast which is from better value for money than the Meridien located nearby, where we usually stay. We had a room with a sea view: just fabulous. We had a Nice stay in Nice!Erik.
Wot - No Room Service!
from TravellingMatte
Hmmm... 4 stars - I don't know how. The room was nice enough and the location fabulous for bith shopping and eating in Nice. However, a smaller than average room with less than average facilities (minibar only stocked water and Coca Cola), a hotel bar and restaurant that cannot be reached from within the hotel, NO room service (or services at all) on a Sunday, fairly unhelpful staff etc all made this a decidedly 2 star experience.
Hotel rating misleading
from A TripAdvisor Member
The hotel was rated as a 4 star, so we expected a better quality hotel but instead found a hotel in need of renovation, with peeling wall-paper in corridors, peeling paint in some places. Our eventual small bedroom had no air-conditioning to turn on if your room was like a furnace, so we had to leave the balcony doors open all the time. Bathroom door never closed, as the wood had expanded so much. We even found a plank of wood imbetween the bedframe and mattress.Overall, staff were fine, location of hotel was good , although their misleading website does mention views balconies in each room and good views = this is wrong! The first room we were shown had a view of a derelict building with broken windows. The hotel needs a complete overhaul and is not worthy of a 4 star rating.
Park Hotel - in need of renovation
from A TripAdvisor Member
The Boscolo Park hotel is in a great location and the staff were very attentive. However, for a four star hotel the rooms were not up to scratch. The building appeared to be suffering from subsidence - huge gaps between the staircase and the walls had appeared and many steps were on a slant. The standard rooms were very small and not all the rooms had balconies which goes contrary to the statement on the Boscolo Hotels website.Airconditioning is only turned on in the summer, so if the weather is hot in the spring the rooms are baking!
Boscolo Park Hotel was great!

For first time visitors to Nice, Boscolo Park Hotel is a great choice. Excellent location, walking distance to the coast, bus stop, shopping centres, bus station - you name it. This is my choice for a return visit.
