... to board are older men, perhaps 60 or so. One of them has a cigarette hanging from the corner of his mouth. The last to board is an older surfer dude with a bandana and shoulder length blonde hair, maybe 35 or 40. With him is a young Filipina. Now that's unusual. First time I have seen a Filipina diving since I have been here. The boat motors out a few hundred metres and the divers enter the water. The boat returns to shore. The divers will work their own way back to shore.
... Francis Garcia who was also celebrating his 29th birthday. After a few drinks we went for dinner at Smoke Restaurant in D'Mall. Smoke is well known for local food, and is very good, but it has no air circulation and we could feel the already warm air rise at least 20 more degrees as we walked in. The staff were no very friendly but in that heat I would not be too friendly either. Food was good, it was cheap, but there was not to much of ...
... so I felt safe to do the dive with her. Plus I prefer having ladies :) After the refresher we went back to the dive shop for tea and biscuits with the rest of the group. We were introduced to the two other people joining us on the dive who would buddy each other. They were a couple from Wellington in Newzealand so we got chatting straight away all about the city. The boat ride over to our dive spot took us past loads of bays I had never seen before which were gorgeous. We ...
... inconvenience. Equivalent of around USD 45. Pretty good really! They say that my bag will be delivered to our boracay hotel the following morning. I can live with that. So after sorting all that out we finally arrive to our hotel which is situated off the main tourist path of Boracays famous white beach but rather on the quieter diwindi beach. A five minute walk from the old Boat station 1 (the nicest part of white beach). The sand on white beach ...
... But still I personally wasn't able to enjoy as much as the others because whenever Gab wants his milk, we had to go back to the hotel, take a shower then get dressed since I am still breasfeeding him. So it was, "whew"! But nevertheless, with or without extra activities, just being with my family especially RJ and Gab was enough happiness and enjoyment already. So we just took pictures of us, then Ann and Mae got ...

Historical Traveler Reviews BEST WESTERN Boracay Tropics Resort
the first thing i noticed when we were going through the formalities of what would be our 3-day stay at this hotel is its friendly staff and the laid-back atmosphere. the rooms were great, although the one we had didnot have a bath tub. if your idea of a vacation is to relax and just let time pass and enjoy every minute of it, then this is the place for you. although the breakfast buffet was not what i was used to, having been to other hotels that have wide varieties to offer on their menu that just suits a voracious glutton like me, it still made me feel like i was having a good old-fashioned home cooked meal. although i might try a beachfront hotel next time, i still think this hotel is a great one, and i can't over-emphasize how the friendly staff made our stay a memorable one... and a million thanks to my eternal friend...
This place is a winner!!
I loved our stay at Boracay Tropics. The place is magnificent, the rooms were great and clean, the breakfast buffet was superb!! The place is small, quiet and relaxing. It makes you want to stay inside the resort and enjoy the peace and tranquil surrounding.
However, if you are looking for a place that is closer to the beach then this is not it. It's a 3 minute walk to the beach and it is far away from the night-life. But, for me personally, it was all worth it.
We enjoy our stay in Boracay Tropics. It was truly a very nice hotel to stay. The location is just right. Few walks from the beachfront and far enough with the noise and too much people. A family resort as it is and a serene place to enjoy Boracay. The people are geniunely nice and friendly. The housekeeping and dining staff are commendable. We love the pool and the landscape. We will surely come back in this hotel. Truly an A+++ for us!!!
Gosh! it was my first time in Boracay with my friends!! We are not that much excited talaga! ano ba naman na magising kami at around 2am! yes! 2am to catch the first flight..and then..Caticlan Airport na..We love sana to ride the trike..but, somebody approached us with a placard (my name on it!) welcoming us! meron pala kaming service! then..a banca! walang hanggang picture taking! and eto na..talagang di kami nagkamali to chose Boracay Tropics! na love at first sight kami..! we love them all..tama...first rate talaga ang inyong staff and crew..me sumama pala sa amin...si "CALOY" ! but, di namin sya pinansin..buti na lang maganda ang pool! kaya naglunoy ang aming mga beauty..the staff are so amazed to see our guts to wear those skimpy bikinis and two piece bathing suits! kesehodang naka sweater ang ibang guests...bakit? nasa Boracay kaya kami..kaya...feeling summer..kahit signal number 2!! i cant forget that talaga...babalik kami dyan...PROMISE!!
Relax in this Family Friendly Resort
I have been to Boracay several times with my young kids and stayed in diff. resorts. This time we tried the few month old Boracay Tropics and I was very happy. The rooms are spacious, nicely interiored and they are generous with the extra beds/breakfasts. My kids spent a lot of time in the nice pool. The resort is not at the beach front and has a perimeter wall and nicely landscaped garden surrounding the pool. These things make you feel relaxed and away from the hustle and bustle, perfect when you have kids. You'll feel safe having them run around and yet the beach is just afew minute away.
My husband and i wanted to relax and leave the bustle and hustle of the city living so we decided to spend quality time in boracay (for the holy week trip)...The room was clean, but lacks facilities/toiletries like toothbrush, toothpaste, comb, shower cap, slippers, bath robe, do not disturb and make up room signages, and esp. blow dryer --can you believe that? i have visited most of the best and simplest resorts all over the world and even the simplest or a 3 star resort provides a hair dryer for each room (thats what the women need the most!!!)... anyways, the service provided by the man who picked us up from the airport and the restaurant staff at the boracay tropics were great (esp. cathy who has always been attentive and smiling and some of the guys staff --i dont know the names coz they didnt put on their name tags--sorry couldnt give you good compliments!!!--better put your nametags next time to get noticed and complimented when needed)...regarding the front desk staff/officer , we are not satisfied with their service...they are not really friendly, not accomodating, not approachable, not really courteous especially the ladies...they simply are not smiling..i also noticed that the front desk staff named eunice and divine, wouldnt even bother to smile as the customers walk in the lobby, arriving from a tiring walk to the beach ...i would rather recommend the restaurant staff to be assigned at the front desk (it seems like they know this job better than them) to set your clients moods and be more satisfied with the service...who would want to see a poker-faced during a holiday trip???
Loved Boracay Tropics
I really liked our stay at the Boracay Tropics Resort. The resort is very clean (2 months old). The staff was great. It's a 3-minute walk to the beach, which didn't bother me. Oh ya, and the complimentary breakfast was very good. I definitely recommend this resort.
