And That's a Wrap!

This is it…the final one! The blog to end all blogs…or more precisely, just more blather because I was dumb enough to suggest that the previous blog was not the final one. And to compound the problem, some readers are actually harassing us for the final entry. So here it is…

On the way back to Ontario we stopped in Ottawa for some beavertails…three "originals" for Michael, Laura and me, and one “peaches and cream” ...

fend of stress when i get back to the city but i will do that periodically. right now we are settleing in and putting

things away. i feel by myself since ahad and ahsan already have gone off to set up ...

Here we go! Monday we leave

Left aligned photo tag: Starting to Plan our trip! So Exciting. We will be travelling to Amora on the 2nd of March via London [where we hear we will have a hectic transfer with lots of time on our hands arriving at 9 AM London time and leaving at 3:30 to arrive on the 3rd of March in Lisbon] Whew! I'm already tired. Good thing we have several days to rest up before our roadtrip to France!

Something always comes up...

We were supposed to leave early Sunday morning, but there were some last minute repairs on my truck that needed to be taken care of. Everything is all fixed now and in perfect working order, so that means we will be on the road first thing Wednesday morning. Better late than never.

BIKE TRIP: What made the trip all worthwhile

... cutters freed the moose, everyone cheered! The great big beauty stood and shook itself, testing it's hoof, and then jogged off into the trees! It could have ended so much worse!
Our plan was to bike furthur north but after such an experience, which involved standing in the cold wind for almost an hour, we decided to go to the nearest Provincial Park and camp for the final night. Our site at Balsam Lake was a clearning encircled with ...

BIKE TRIP:The constellations revealed themselves..

... on a sunny summer day.

"Drove back to town this morning
with workin' on my mind
I thought I might be quittin'
thought of leavin' it behind.
Went back to bed this morning
and as I'm pulling down the blind
the sky was dull
and hypothetical
and falling one cloud at a time...
It was in Bobcaygeon
where I saw the constellations
reveal themselves
one star at a time..."

BIKE TRIP: On the road again...

... spun our wheels as fast as we could hoping to find some shelter just around the next corner as it started to rain. We dove under a tractor bridge and threw a tarp over our three drenched bodies and bikes just as it started to hail. We waited out the storm wondering if a tornado was blowing over our heads. Eventually the rain let up and the sun came out. It was funny to look down the trail and see ...

... towns. The biggest and best can be found in Yorkton, Saskatchewan. Across the road from the egg is the shrine to Our Lady of The Highway. I'm not religious at all but I decided to check it out just to see if there really is a patron saint of the highways. Turns out that it is just Virgin Mary though. That's kind of boring, isn't it? I swerved northward to view St.Paul's UFO Landing Pad. For those of you thinking about visiting this landmark please do not drive 100km out of ...
