My master packing skills have taken first place yet again; 14 days worth of business casual, dress and vacation wear is packed into one carry-on bag. Another large tote holds all of my books, binder, notebooks, electronics and a change of clothes. Two bags for the next two weeks. Four months into living in Myrtle Beach, SC and I'm ready for my first day trip to Charleston - let the research begin! It's close to two hours away, and to get the most out of this day trip I'll be leaving around 7am next Saturday. So far the plan is to stop for breakfast somewhere along the way, maybe in Georgetown, before dropping into a day of walking, learning and exploring. First on the itinerary is a ...

We decided yesterday to get some information about the Myrtle Beach area so we signed up for a three hour tour in an open jeep that can hold up to 14 people plus the driver. When we arrived at the meeting point, there were 12 folks so we had a "little" more room.

The tour took us through the heart of old Myrtle Beach where we learned that the area was originally developed by three families who would sell a 60 foot wide lot for $25 and if you put at least $500 ...
