... panelled walls, linen table clothes, waiters with dinner jackets and bow ties and a three course meal. Wendy started with oysters served three ways, then breaded drum fish and a rich dessert. ... right where we were heading. Destin was right on the edge of the warning for severe thunderstorms & heavy rain. New Orleans were warning for a possible category 3 tornado! The thunderstorm came & went followed by a few more hours of rain & the Tornado watch was lifted by noon the next day. We learnt an awful lot about how they track systems how the tornadoes form!! This is what these folks go through year round here!

... the Camera Club of Tucson in Bosque del Apache Wildlife Refuge to photograph the Sandhill Cranes and real snow birds. This will be our fourth year of visiting the Bosque the week after Thanksgiving and weather forecast, at least for the weekend is for temps in 60's.

However, we know from experience, that the weather can turn quickly so we will monitor the patterns to see when we need to make our exit to Tucson.

After a grueling five days of driving, it was time to find a nice campground and hang out for a few days. My plan was to stay at the state park on the beach near Destin. But the polar vortex spoiled things, so I found an RV park near Pensacola instead. The temperatures were in the 30's at night, and although it was only in the 50's during the day, at least it was sunny!
