... a deer in headlights. Thanks to renier's and my guidance she made it round them all I one piece but it was just so funny how she hadn't driven one in so long. Anyways we made it to Dreamworld and we had planned it so we went on the Monday hoping it wouldn't be as busy and it kinda worked as we had barely any waiting times at all. We thought it was best to start of small and build up so the first one we went on was a kids themed Madagascar one. I ...

... for quite some time. I've not been in a bad mood recently or even a negative mood, but for some reason I just wanted to walk and keep on walking until everything became clear to me. I ended up walking up past Broadbeach. Broadbeach South is about 4-5km from Surfers Paradise, maybe a touch more from our house. It's not a huge walk, but a decent one I think. Day 134 We woke up to the sound of Ben's phone alarm this morning, remembering that we had an appointment to keep. Sam was here and when we were all ready we got into his car and drove through heavy traffic towards Surfers Paradise. We arrived at the base of the Q1 skyscraper just in time, filled in our forms and walked into a waiting room with a cushioned bench running around the wall on one side. Ten of us listened to our climb leader's introduction before going round to ...

... Broadwater Park. (I really prefer shade, which apparently makes me simpatico with all Australians -- because I didn't see anyone set up in the sun!) Australians appear to take their Christmas Day barbecues pretty seriously, based on the kit already assembled as we wondered into the park at 930am. Tents, trolleys, tables, sofas ... These people were set up for the day.

We stayed awhile, squeezing into ever smaller chunks of shade, but ...

... up our bags and headed for a girly couple days down at Surfers Paradise, on the Gold Coast. However, we didn’t get very far to start with. No further than 500m from our front door we came to a hault due to a funny noise occurring, noise being the tyre which was, no lie, flatter than a pancake! With us two girls all ready for a fancy weekend, we looked like two true plonkers beside the road calling road side assistance when we could of just popped back home and ...
