... food was delicious, particularly the coconut rice!! We packed up our leftovers and went to the pub where Chad normally plays in his band, Agent 77. It was nice to sit outside in the warm air enjoying half price vodka and shots thanks to Chad. It was good to meet their mates and see what they get up to on a school night. Soon the absinthe arrived. We were out for the night! Next, karaoke. I sang 'she's lost that loving feeling' my Top gun fave with Jessie a bar manager but it went down ...

We then wandered around where all the rides were so Caity could have a go - she is turning into a bit of an adrenalin junkie I think :) and Leon went of to go on the roller coaster there- nothing close to the superman ride he said, but he did get wet. We went to the beach for a while and swam in the sea, sunbathed a bit but had a relaxed day all in all. Cooked a healthy dinner after eating **** all day ...

... a big hippie vibe. Eventually we got shown to our room, which was a big tent like building and had 4 bunk beds crammed inside. On our first day we had a surf lesson pre booked, which we were both excited and nervous for. It was a really great experience and I'm so glad I did it, but so so painful. We were both discovering bruises on our arms the next day, after being hit by the out of control surfboards repeatedly. The next day we discovered ...

We arrived at Surfers Paradise at 9:00 following a short bus ride from Byron. We were unable to check in immediately so we set out to explore the area. The skyline was dominated by high rise hotels and apartments overlooking a long stretch of golden sandy beach with a bustling town centre packed with shops, restaurants and bars, a far cry from relaxed Byron.

We sat amongst the many tourists having a coffee and then took a ...
