Jen- Look for the clues... The coffee on the island has been quite good. Especially at our hotel where after breakfast Doug and I would sit for a morning date, drinking our second or third cup of free coffee while the kids do homework beside us. Two days ago, I was feeling pretty rich as I was willing to pay 4$ for a European americano in an air-conditioned (a rarity) coffee shop which had an espresso machine. This is big bucks considering that they ...

Today us four and Steven, the guy we were introduced to at dinner last night, all went on a day long tour to Koh Kong's jungle. We were picked up in the morning by the tuk tuk, which took us to a small harbour where we got a boat, which took us across a big lake surrounded by mangroves and other greenery. ... at least that’s what we told ourselves) this meant one thing. Thai massage. Walking the streets of Bangkok we noticed Thailand wasn’t short on massage parlours, it wasn’t short on seedy parlours either. Koh Chang was the same, driving down the streets we passed hundreds, most looking worse for wear. We were heading to one that we had found in one of our many guide books, a small one tucked away between buildings called Bodiworks. It didn’t look seedy ...

... painful and we were all very fed up. At least we would leave this bus here along with the many rude Cambodians we'd unfortunately met, cross the border by foot and then get in the designated Thai minibus to take us the rest of the way to Ko Chang.

Crossing the border to Thailand was much more effort than our other land border crossings (Vietnam to Cambodia and Brunei to Malaysian Borneo). To start with, passport control to leave ...
