... out of the ground at all angles. Neither of us have been able to take a single picture that pays homage to how beautiful it really is. Definitely the most striking place we’ve been to yet. The scenery on route to the coast was only a build up to what we would see there. Kate just wants you to know that she was actually the one enjoying the scenery while I couldn’t take my eyes off the horrendous TV shows they were showing. Typical of me really, when there is a ...
Krabi, Thailand kateandlindsay... forever and began with a bad nights sleep as we worried about dad. But we got to the airport and found him waiting happily there so we all boarded and were happy as lambs in a paddock.
We flew to Paris and then had very little time to make it from the airport to the train station to go to London for our next flight.
Amazingly we flew through Paris airport (not literally with the plane but through the queues and customs silly) and were then ...
... walks now after that show!!!!!
We are looking forward to seeing everyone, although no one wants to go home early! The children have grown to really love Thailand, which is great but they are llooking forward to hanging out with their friends ( as we are)
See you all soon. We are due back on the 10th of August

... it dificult to understand why so many backpackers take their meals in the Farang restaurants where Arnold Schwarzenegger hops across the screen, the bang-bang sounds of his many guns making conversation with other travellers near impossible!!! Meanwhile my female Thai neighbors have shifted their conversation topic from Farang Boyfriends to whether or not my Scottish "friends" wear underwear under their kilts.....hehehe, these guys could be in for a nice surprise tonight.
krabi, Thailand farang020... this point we were a bit tired of constantly getting soaked with an ice cold bucket of water so we spent most of the day by the pool in our hotel. It was our last night together in Bangkok so we had planned to go to a Thai boxing fight but everyone else had run out of money so we just went for a meal instead. My friends then flew home on the 16th leaving me in Bangkok. Over the next few days i saw the Grand Palace which is Thailand's holiest temple and was very interesting although ...
Krabi, Thailand guyhay... the way novice cyclists got when they fell down on the rough part of the island. We called it 'tatoo'! Meeting Up Old Friends Part of traveling, well, my favorite part, is the moment when I meet my old friends and we share our experiences together. Ajon is one of my oldest friend in life who is certainly a hippie traveler. Right now, he's looking for a location for his sufficient concept bungalow (www.porpeangbangalow.com). On the first day, we went to ...
Krabi, Thailand pploi... pass you by, each accompanied by their various voluptuous female escorts and Russian models. Perhaps even the ever popular American bailout corporate CEO with his escort about to partake in an expensive beachfront seafood dinner at a fine beachfront resort, funded by the ever generous American taxpayer. Hey, we all need a vacation, right? Patong, and especially further up coast, was devastated by the December 2004 tsunami disaster, killing ...
Krabi, Thailand pecoskidWe left Koh Lanta's season bungalows with very fond memories and took a 1 hour boat trip to Koh Jum. Koh Jum is the most remote and undeveloped island we've visited. It's surrounded by rocks so even our small ferry couldn't get close, we had to a longtail boat with our rucksacks mid-sea! This was made even more chaotic as reprasentatives from each resort ...
Koh Jum, Thailand samandchantal... of it. We had lunch at a pretty nice restaurant overlooking the water and pretty much near the side of the mountain where the mountain climbers would be climbing. We also walked through the hippie village during the day when all of the hippies are passed out. It was pretty much a Bob Marley oasis with rasta bars, African flags, bamboo loungepads, and we heard that they openly sell pot in these bars at night. After leaving that jungle of a place we ...
Krabi, Thailand ramrtw... the proximity to tropical beaches and remote islands with millions of things to see and do on the cheap! Figure in the excellent food and the friendly Thai people (Bonus story 1) and it all added up to an amazing experience!!!
Krabi with Becky was a blast, enjoyed hanging with her doing the beach and food and shopping thing. Becky eventually travelled on to Ko Phang Na a popular Island on the East coast of Thailand for the full moon party there ...
