Great Place to stay!
Great place to stay. Room was large and nice. I would consider it a great place for a family for it has a kitchen in it and is on beach.
Request to be 3rd floor or higher for view. Construction of new place next door was a bit noisy in am. Construction office is downstairs converted room. Requested a late check out of one extra hour and was denied! ??? Good experience overall. Try the Greek restaurant down the street north one mile. Great food!
We had our second visit to The Best Western Pelican Beach resort. Our first visit was about 5 years ago when the resort had several different buildings. At first, I was sorry to hear that this was no longer the case, but I was pleasantly surprised. If you are looking for a family oriented resort, I would strongly recommend the Pelican Beach resort.
Im sure couples would feel the same. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly. I do look forward to visiting again once the new building is completed.
LOVE The Pelican!
My husband and first stayed at the Pelican 11 years ago while still in college and have gone every year, sometimes 2 and 3 times ever since.
The staff has stayed the same friendly bunch from our first trip, which is saying something about the resort. Renovations will only make the place better than it already is! We consider it our home away from home.
Not as advertised in internet!! -
I called to reserve one of the effiencies that they advertise on the internet. They told me that they no longer have any kitchens or kitchenettes. thought you should know.
Loved this resort!!!!
We have been staying at this resort for over 4 years now. The kids love it. DIrectly on the beach. Wonderful staff. We even know them by name.
Real family atmosphere. Very relaxing vacation. Beautiful. Cant wait to go back. Nice to sit on the balcony, overlook the ocean and watch nature at its finest. A+ in my book. Outstanding vacation.DIna Shelly/Tom Kendorski
Great family place
Found this place after checking out of another property down the road that was awful. The staff was so helpful, and made sure that our stay was comfortable and clean. The suite was great, 2 seperate rooms, an eating area and kitchenette. We had a king bed, a queen size murphy bed and a single pullout sleeper. Plenty of room for us and the 3 kids!
Plus a balconony overlooking the ocean. My husband travels on business to this area a few times a year, and we plan to make this our regular stop! Can't wait for the new 11 story building they are working on to be finished!
I stayed at the Pelican Beach Resort when I was in Ft. Lauderdale to look at a school for my son. We both loved it. It is right on the beach, the view is wonderful, the rooms were clean and large, and all of the people associated with the hotel are great! We have already booked our rooms for our trip back in several weeks.
We took our five grown children, spouses, and grandchildren there and we all loved it - and went again two years later. The grandchildren still talk about having breakfast on the deck, swimming in the pool, and walking on the beach. We will return again next year - it's our together time - wonderful memories - comfortable accomodations - and the beach feels like it's our own.
Pre or Post Cruise Place to Stay
Great pre or post cruise stay on the beach. Staff are very friendly and a good value compared to the pricier hotels close to the Port Everglades. Have stayed there many times and will again.
On the Beach
On our first trip to Ft. Lauderdale, my husband and I had no idea of where to stay. I found this hotel in a guide book. It was the only one I found that was on the beach. The rooms were nothing special, but the beach was nice and it had a great heated pool. I would stay there again.

... Dallas. Got to Dallas had a nice lunch during our 2.5 hour lay over. Boarded our next flight on a smaller plane less leg room not as comfortable flight for our last 2.5 hour leg we arrived in Fort Lauderdale at 6pm edt, long day already, caught our shuttle to the Embassy Suites and was checked in by 715pm. I can't say enough about this hotel. Beautiful! Great rooms, decor, staff, happy hour. I highly recommend staying here while in Fort ...
... oldies? That was going to be some party ship! I took the shuttle bus into Fort Lauderdale's 'Galleria' shopping Mall and sat and had a coffee at Starbucks with a couple of fellow travellers. Each of us took advantage of free high speed wifi to catch up on some emails and other stuff. (Sadly, time was against and there was no time to inspect the waterfront.) It's back to the wind-up satellite internet again tonight. Back on board ship we were entertained by the four singers from ...
... delayed because of the fog. If you don't know Saint John, here is what you need to know about it. It's foggy, all the time.
We didn't end up leaving Saint John until 6:10 am and we had a connecting flight in Montreal at 7:55am. It was going to be a tight squeeze, but we were praying that we were going to make it! So I said goodbye to my parents again and then we boarded the plane. Whenever I have travelled, it's always been in the late morning/early afternoon, so it was really ...
Today we closed on the house AND closed on the boat!
We bought the Leopard 45 in Annapolis. We're really happy to have finally found the boat and will share more about her (her- they're always female) in the future. A few quick stats- she is 45' in length with a beam of 24.3' (width), ...
... lunch. We toasted in the New Year with some champagne and enjoyed our salads. The weather is warm and very humid, just the way we like it.
Soon after our room was ready and we were too, for a long nap. Three hours later we walked along A1A and saw all the people milling around. It was crowded. We walked a few miles until we got to a Thai Restaurant that I ...
