Historical Traveler Reviews Best Western Ocean Beach Hotel & Suites Cocoa Beach

      Very nice hotel

      from

We stayed at the this hotel for 2 nights last week through a time share. We upgraded to the tower over looking the ocean for $55.00 a night. This was the best hotel we stayed at during our vacation. Our room was clean and included a small fridge and microwave. The water pressure in the shower was great. The deck over looking the ocean was very nice. The tower is newer than the ground level rooms. They looked a little worn.

They did have some wild cats running around, but they never bothered us. The pool is really nice and they also have a bar that serves food at the pool. You have to use your room key to get into the pool area, and sometimes it didn't work and was difficult to get in.

      I would stay here again!!

A miserable stay at Best western

      from

Hotel looks great from outside but wait till you get inside. We reserved a room here and when we got there and went to our room as soon as you opened the door you could smell mold really bad, i suffer from the mold allergy so we went back to lobby and told them that we wanted a different room they said no problem you can stay in the hotel overlooking the ocean but you will have to updrade and that will be $55.00 more a night but we had no choose so we paid it then got in that room and the refridgerator wasnt working so we called the lobby they were gonna send someone up, the maintance called and said we will bring you a small portable fridge we have one on order for that room, hmmm wonder why the office would put us in there knowing the fridge didnt work? The tiolet ran all night long, very annoying. Then when we went to check out they told us check out anytime ok so at 3:30 am when we went to check out the lobby doors were locked u had to go to a walk up window then the desk person thought we should have to pay taxes on the room which we allready had... they need desk help badly. No coffee available at that time of the morning in the lobby either. Dont be fooled by the pretty picture of the hotel its not what it looks, and also wild cats had paw prints all over our car. These 3 cats were seen on the property all 3 days we stayed there. Will not recommend this hotel to anyone nor will we stay at this hotel in the future.

We Left Happy After A Pleasant Stay

      from

Skies were clear and blue during my two-day stay, so our family enjoyed the beautiful views from our 6th-story oceanfront room. And oceanfront is the only way to go! Our room was neat and clean. The carpet showed the wear and tear of families in and out. This isn't the Ritz Carlton but neither are the rates. Parking is adequate. Conveniently located, not far from the pier. The staff was friendly to me, but I didn't make any demands. I left satisfied.

      Nice rooms, bad service

      from

Rooms were nice. The property is in a great location, next to the pier.

But.... Desk staff is incompetent. We signed up for the package they advertise on their web site, where cruise travelers can stay a night and then keep their car in Best Westerns lot for your cruise, and they shuttle you to the cruise terminal. They did not arrange for the shuttle to pick us up, nor would they pay for the shuttle when we finally did get one, or give us shuttle vouchers. They are completely clueless.

      Great Stay. Great Location.

      from

Had an oceanfront room. Very Clean and plenty of room. Great view of ocean. Great location to access pier and beach. Would recommend oceanfront room here. Other rooms behind oceanfront building cheaper but not the view. Staff extremely friendly and helpful.

      Very disappointed

      from

We were extremely disappointed with the hotel. Our room was small and not designed with the business traveler in mind. Unlike most hotels, the Best Western did not offer high speed internet, nor did it have a data port anywhere near the desk! The air conditioning did not work properly, which only made the musty room worse. Also, the hot water did not work in the shower! After being thoroughly disappointed with the room and hotel, we left a day early. Since we supposedly left after the housekeeping staff left, we had to pay full price for the evening that we did not stay there. While we were checking out, another couple attempted to check in and were told loudly that they had no vacancies. However, the gentleman at the front desk quietly told them to check back in a half hour. After mentioning our room problems and having another interested hotel guest, they still charged us for the extra night. In sum, I'm not sure how this is a triple diamond AAA hotel. Neither the service, staff nor amenities are worthy of such a rating.

      Top shelf all the way

      from

Friendly competent staff were all smiles all the time from day one until our departure. Nice clean room, excellent view and a more than fair price for a direct oceanfront room [very reasonable] P.S you could not ask for a better place on the beach. Thank you Best Western.

      Fun Location, Clean, Affordable

      from

Hotel is located directly on the beach and near everything fun to do!

It is in the part of town where the traffic is least congested and you can rent bikes and ride on the beach or the back road by the hotel that runs parallel to A1A and has streets that access the beach at every block. The rooms are very clean and the staff is warm and friendly.

They were willing to provide housekeeping service at different times, as one day I wanted service very early and the next day I was sunburnt and wanted to sleep til the late afternoon. I will stay here again as the rate on the room was worth every dime.

      Miserable Personnel

      from

We were greeted by the most un-friendly front desk personnel you could imagine. Terse, miserable and diffident could only describe the two women at the desk, Customs Officials have better personalities from third world countries. They say it's oceanfront, but; the rooms spread out over two blocks from the ocean right up to A1A, the major highway through Cocoa Beach, the rooms are small and old, I definitely would not recommend this hotel.

      Clean, Comfortable, Friendly Competent Staff

      from

The moment we entered the lobby we were greeted with a smile and competent staff. We were shown a room by the Executive Housekeeper who showed us not only the room/amenities but told us a little about the Space Coast area. Everytime we passed a staff member we were acknowledged and some even asked how our stay was and told us if we needed anything to please ask anytime. We would highly recommend this hotel, it is located directly on the ocean and the rooms are very clean.

... We even got some Christmas presents and a small Christmas tree made of wood (so it was some kind of travel Christmas tree). On Christmas Day, we wanted to go to a diner. When we arrived at Denny's the waitress said straight ahead that we would have to wait for quite a long time and informed us about the things that they had running out of (what was an eternally long list). But we thought it couldn’t be too bad. Ultimately, ...

... Sadly the doors are closed when we are here, and tours are not allowed inside of it since 9/11.We are allowed into the LCC, launch control complex, essentially the operations center where the rows of technicians sit at rows of monitors during launches. The picture on the left shows the size of operations during Apollo launches, the picture on the right Shuttle launches. You can see what 20 years of down sizing and job combining has done. Especially because at least 2/3's ...

... admit I had never previously seen a 3D movie.

The movie we watched was "Space Station". It was fascinating. The 3D effect made it all the more interesting and realistic.

After the movie we waited near the gift shop while Tyler and Hillary went to the Shuttle Launch Experience. At the conclusion of that we made our way back to the condo. We were tired when we got back so we opted to order Chinese food. That topped the day off well.

... i was glad to see they gave the Russians the credit they deserved as they put the first thing in space , the first dog in space and the first man in space, they also put the first Woman in space but she got lost on the way home cause she couldn't read the map. it was good but for me the real experience begins once you take the bus ride out to the Apollo launch center. Here you go thru a mock launch in the actual room they used during the Apollo missions, it ...

We relaxed in our cabins. Eventually, it was time for dinner and later the show. None of us had slept well the previous night, so we were very tired and anxious for ...
