A great little find just out of town on the road to Shute Harbour. The apartments are lovely and have everything you need and more. The owners are very helpful. Loved it. We stayed 3 nights and relaxed, it was very welcome.

Left Rockhampton for the 6+ hour drive to Airline beach.Certainly
worth it. Drive up was enjoyable with changing scenery and totally clear
      roads.
We passed small villages & saw where the sugar cane farms
are, we could see how they move it around, in the back drop were the factories where it is produced.

That stomach turning moment when the flashing lights appear in the rear view mirror. The hopelessness of knowing you have done wrong and there is nowhere to go. Let me get my defence out there first. We were into the last 100 kilometres of the 1050km journey we have taken over the last 2 days. The long and repetitive road had been for the most part …

... They cuddled up to us with seemingly no fear and appeared to enjoy being held and rocked. We then went through all the wildlife and saw new animals like the Wombat. They look very slow moving, but they are among the fastest of animals. We saw our first Wallaby which looks like a small kangaroo and many brightly colored birds. I went to join a ping pong competition at the hotel and Bob decided to go for a swim in the large pool. He ...

... of the same types as the rest of the world, there is so much more of it. The Staghorn type coral grows along the cliff wall on the side of the reef and looks like a miniature forest. All sorts of colorful fish: puffer, angel, parrot, clown (a brown Nemo hiding inside a sea anenamea), yellowtail snapper, and plenty others I don't know the names of. There were also clams. Not the smooth-shell type that we eat, but the big curvy kind ...
