this apartment was a tiny bit out of toen which was great and the main town has loads of road works going on and was very busy.
the rooms amazing very clean and well presented we really enjoyed our stay here and wish we could of stayed longer, it was a real home away from home. only down side no wifi.

A great little find just out of town on the road to Shute Harbour. The apartments are lovely and have everything you need and more. The owners are very helpful. Loved it. We stayed 3 nights and relaxed, it was very welcome.

Left Rockhampton for the 6+ hour drive to Airline beach.Certainly
worth it. Drive up was enjoyable with changing scenery and totally clear
We passed small villages & saw where the sugar cane farms
are, we could see how they move it around, in the back drop were the factories where it is produced.

That stomach turning moment when the flashing lights appear in the rear view mirror. The hopelessness of knowing you have done wrong and there is nowhere to go. Let me get my defence out there first. We were into the last 100 kilometres of the 1050km journey we have taken over the last 2 days. The long and repetitive road had been for the most part …

Lauren woke me a few hours later as there was a talk within the hostel for everyone doing Fraser Island tour which the majority staying there are as its a combined organisation. ... at the airport and then did a spot of beach shopping before heading to the gate ready to board. A short hop later we were descending over Proserpine - the gateway to the Whitsundays. Our transfer was waiting and so off to Airlie Beach we went. After a lot of hopping backwards and forwards between 2 shops, we had our tickets and just had to pack everything we needed into a smaller bag for the trip on the boat. As always, I seemed to overpack but you just never know what you'll ...

... on Hamilton Island we didn't get a chance to do much relaxing but we did spend one day laying on the beach and Kristen got to read, while I stared out into the ocean. The beach here is nice, but not amazing. There is a large tidal range and the low tide creates a huge tidal flat on the shallow shelf. It actually scared me a little today as the water appeared to recede relatively quickly out in the ocean about 150m away and I thought it might be tsunami related but ...
