this apartment was a tiny bit out of toen which was great and the main town has loads of road works going on and was very busy.
the rooms amazing very clean and well presented we really enjoyed our stay here and wish we could of stayed longer, it was a real home away from home. only down side no wifi.

A great little find just out of town on the road to Shute Harbour. The apartments are lovely and have everything you need and more. The owners are very helpful. Loved it. We stayed 3 nights and relaxed, it was very welcome.

Left Rockhampton for the 6+ hour drive to Airline beach.Certainly
worth it. Drive up was enjoyable with changing scenery and totally clear
      roads.
We passed small villages & saw where the sugar cane farms
are, we could see how they move it around, in the back drop were the factories where it is produced.

Krispin shares a room with him and says he keeps to himself, hopefully he becomes more comfortable with us, he is from the Philippines.

Our guide kept telling us how lucky we were to see them, that they only see them 2 or 3 times a year. I'm always skeptical of how "lucky" we are but I'm still no less grateful. Side note - on our rainforest trip last week we saw a wild Cassowary father and baby. This is a big Emu looking bird. ...

... bad thing about this spot were the March flies (which we nicknamed Trackerjacks). They are horrid massive flies that bite (even through your wetsuit). When snorkeling they would sit on our heads and bite us. It's awful. And the more you swat them away the more you attract them. You have to let them land on you and hit them to kill them. The first evening we had a BBQ and the crew showed us a map of our route and some fish we may encounter along ...

... near by. On the beach we found tiny balls of sand in groups and panicked we'd ended up somewhere we definitely shouldn't be... Luckily we found out from a local that it was the cause of sand crabs! After a 12 hour coach we had the chance to explore Airlie Beach too, or should we say Airlie Beach's shopping... Ahem. We also had a walk around the lagoon (but not in the lagoon, as quoted by a friend- 'It's the tourist ******* ...
