Claire woke early at 3, so by 5 when no-one else had woken she went for a walk around the hotel & lake. Found the pools and some breakfast.
Lovely breakfast, followed by a cooling swim and slide. Onto the parks, then more swimming & pizza. Adam & Gary then went back to the parks and became minions. Unfortunately they were turned back to humans by the time they got back. Big blisters are appearing, so old scruffy, comfy shoes tomorrow.
... and think why or how are you here?! Yep I am real and yep I'm doing it the local way! I achieved things I never thought possible and pushed my body I the limit, going on 200 mile bike rides cause I felt like it and attempting to climb to 17000 feet in a pair of wellies! I got lost up volcanoes, abducted by Mexicans (and nearly by some Hondurans) discovered my own Caribbean Island and then got caught in a giant rainstorm and had to be towed in freezing my balls off, I also got ...
... ship shape program. Disney could easily incoperate this into it's program. We saw a lot of people who were overweight using scooters. It would likely be more beneficial to them to walk or encouraged to and for the staff not to be so unkind to these people, I saw bus drivers rolling their eyes and waiters and ride staff being intolerant....

... I had mac n cheese for dinner then a root beer float for dessert (was good and tastes nothing like beer...even better)! Megan came to collect me after work which was about 11.30pm and when we got back Megan went to bed and I watched yet another Christmas movie from the comfort of my sleeping bag!
Another chilled out morning then off for brunch again before Megan started work. We went to an all you can eat buffet, there were salads, pizzas, ...

Nearby on part of the huge area that is Cape Canaveral, 140000 acres all up, mostly just scrubby wetlands, is the biggest landing field in the world, Clark Field. It is 3 miles long, 100 yards wide and 16 inches (410 mm) thick! Not surprisingly it took 3 years to build - mainly for the shuttles returning, but also used whenever an extra heavy transporter plane needs the length. The ...

Historical Traveler Reviews BEST WESTERN Lake Buena Vista Resort Hotel Orlando
Would Never go there again
Terrible, terrible ,,, terrible, over priced for what you receive, was told I would have an airport shuttle to the hotel, Nope... $152.00 later I arrived, to a leaking sink, Rain, thunder and alike. As long as you stayed away from hotel you were fine, but on event of bad weather you had to eat in their resteraunts. YUCK. Raw chicken strips for a 5 year old is unexceptable, raw sirloin at 16.99 is unacceptable, over priced and not recommended at all. Try to call a bell man under 3 hours and ohhhh dont think you pre-piad a thing , they slap you with a resort fee each day your there, and be prepared for a 50.00 cab ride to any where within 10 minutes of the hotel. Be ware.
We got a cheap rate of $59.25 a night and I guess you get what you pay for. It wasn't TERRIBLE but it wasn't that good either. We didn't see any renovations, the room could have used some. It was a bit shabby, peeling wall paper, things like that. The management needs to take charge and check the little things like clean carpets and elevators among other things. The bus is a long tedious ride. Plan on an hour to get back to the hotel in the evening. If you want a great vacation, save up and stay at a Disney resort in the park. There really is no comparison. Sorry to say, but we will NEVER stay here again.
We had a great time, this last may. no problems the service was super. Would reccommend to any one , close to Disney market place. Transportation to all parks and pleasure island at night. Great price and staff Treat yourself...Going back in sept.
Just spent the weekend of June 8th at the BW and had a great experience. Hotel is in a great location - walking distance to Downtown Disney and for the $50/night rate we found on the internet, proved to be an incredible value. Hotel is what you would expect from BW and has just been completely renovated. Room was large and very clean and new. Would definitely stay there again.
We just returned from a week long stay at this hotel. We found the hotel very clean, service good, and a accomodating staff. We stayed on the 8th floor facing Disney. A great view and the rooms are being renovated now. We stayed in one of the newer rooms and thought it was great. Don't be scared off by the older reviews, you can do much worse than this moderately priced resort.
Had a great time!!
We booked our trip through Southwest vacations. It included airfare, hotel and tickets to Disney World attractions. We were very pleased with all the services that we recieved. The airline was great. The hotel staff was very nice, informative and friendly. Our tickets allowed us to do everything in Disney World. The hotel has buses running all the time and it was very easy to travel to different places. We requested a room above the 10th floor that overlooked the lake. We could see the fireworks at night from our balcony. It was an overall wonderful stay. We did go a step futher and rent a limo for the ride to and from the airport. We used the taxis a couple of times and everyone was great! We will go again!!
This hotel is OK and we got a great deal
I read some of the other reviews knocking this hotel so I thought I would add my two cents. First this is an older Hotel that is being renovated. We got a great room rate at this Hotel and it is exactly what is advertised, a Best Western, comparable to a Holiday Inn. The room was large and clean. We had a balcony that looked over Downtown Disney and we were able to watch the fireworks at night. The transportation to all parks was good and you can walk to Downtown Disney at night if you like. The downside to this hotel is the fact that it is not a Disney Resort so you don't get the "In the park feel", which may matter to some, particularly if you have small children. However the convenience and price were more important to me. Overall I would rate this Hotel 6 on a scale of 10. It's not a luxury hotel but is very adequate and affordable.
The BEST Western?
This hotel was extremely disappointing. We booked thinking that the hotel would be of a high standard because of its location within downtown disney - big mistake!
Don't get me wrong this hotel isn't the worst I've stayed in but nor is it the best. The rooms, lobby and restaurants look tacky and are in need of up dating. The staff are unfriendly and make you feel as though you are inconveniencing them. The pool looked grotty and the balcony needed repainting and cleaning.
Not The Best Western Lake Buena Vista Resort
My Wife and I found this hotel to be very disappointing. The room was dirty, the wall paper was peeling from the walls. The balcony was a joke, paint peeling from the rails, there was a screen from top to bottom. There was foul odor in room. If it wasn't for the fact the kids were already tired and that we were only staying the night, I never would have stayed. I would definitely avoid this hotel. By far the worst place I have ever stayed at... Never Again!!!!
A nice choice for your disney vacation
This hotel is convenient to all. There is free transportation all day to the 4 Disney Parks, including the Downtown Diney area. And if you don't rent a car, you can easily walk 10 minutes down the road to a shopping area, where you'll find a McDonalds, TGI Fridays, a supermarket and shops. In the hotel lobby, you can buy tickets to any of the Disney Parks, allowing you to avoid the lines at the park entrances. There is also a convenience shop in the lobby which sells all of the stuff you might've forgotten to bring as well as Disney memorabilia. The hotel pool is nice, and usually fairly empty... allowing for a relaxing dip. And finally, the hotel bar, located on the top floor, is quite entertaining. You get a great view of the entire Disney area, and can see the fireworks at night from the parks. The room was very clean and had all of the standard amenities you would expect in a hotel. A nice feature is the balcony, where you can step out and glance around. I have nothing but praise for this hotel.
