    Two days in Roanoke.

    Surprised Harry at work on Tuesday, Nov 18. *giggling* thanks Matt!! yes, Matt was the one that instigated it. You just can't trust that Cat in the funny hat! LOL
    Awesome meeting Harry. What fun! Too bad you can't come out tonight, but at least I got my hug. ;-)

    Stayed in a 6 bedroom "cabin" in Blue Ridge Mountains close to Bedford, VA and Peaks of Otter.

    As Jeanne said "The good times just keep getting better. And, Karen, thanks for coordinating everything with the house. As much as we *****ed about it, it really hit all the high points--plenty of rooms and bathrooms, a nice dining space, great views, and a hot tub and company that goes unmatched."

    ... one of the easiest creek crossings I've done. After crossing, we headed back up to finish off the loop and head back to the parking area. From here, we headed just a few miles north on the Blue Ridge Parkway and parked at Sunset Fields Overlook at mile post 78.4.     ... that indicated what mountains could be seen in the distance and how far away they were. With the weather today, however, we couldn’t see 34 feet in front of us, let alone 34 miles. After lunch, we started making our way down. Although the hike down was certainly easier than going up, the wet stone stairs were treacherous and we made our way slowly.
