... we cold get up onto it. What a stunning view from up there! Proceeded to then walk along/up the wall to a series of watchtowers. Interestingly one of them was being inhabited by several workers who were rebuilding sections of the wall. After traversing a few sections of the wall we then wound our way back down the valley to the car and got back to base early afternoon. ... to write this incredibly long-winded blog post for you, as well as put away the results of my successful laundry experiment. All my clothes were dry, and they smelled clean. I'd call that a success, wouldn't you? It is now...12:45 am...I'm ready about ready to faint and I still have to upload the pictures so, I'll see you again tomorrow. For what? ... supposed to be at the East Qing Tombs, but on the way there's a massive traffic jam in a small town. A couple of lorries are stopped in the middle of the road (broken down, or just resting?), but most of the congestion is caused by the narrowness of the road in the town centre, where roadside traders have spread their goods - fruit, plants, live chickens and cuddly toys among them - right up to the highway edge.
