Ok folks, here is the story of Fiji. The planned flight out of Rarotonga didn't quite happen as planned. Just as we were about to board we were told that the plane was over weight and that they were looking for volunteers to stay in Rarotonga for an extra day and were offering compensation. Not ones to turn down a freebee we were there at the desk asap!. Bula!Well we've made it to Fiji. Long delay on the flight to leave Sydney (new check in system -computer says no), so arrived late. Moving out to the Yasawa Islands tomorrow, first stop Manta Ray Island. Hot, humidity about 1000%. Very friendly people. Unlikely to get many opportunities to access the intenet on the islands, so probably last entry for a while.

So now we really feel like travellers as we have been away for over 2 weeks!! The last week has been spent basically relaxing by the pool and reading, drinking copious amounts of the local lager (Fiji Gold - very nice too), and chatting to other travellers (well two actually, who have become our "sharing expenses" buddies). ... water, colourful coral and hordes of wonderful fish, just as you would imagine. We particularly like the little green ones that hide when you go near, the boggle-eyed fish that gives you dirty looks, the black and white ones in neatly graded sizes, the blue starfish, and the happily harmless barracuda that had Andy surrounded. We aren't so sure about the four-foot long sea anemones!
