          Beach!

A travel blog entry by jadewhiting on Sep 06, 2015

Today we drove to Panama City Beach. Nothing exciting happens during the day. Upon arriving at Panama City Beach we were let into our rooms and oh my godddd - the view from our rooms were just so, so incredible. I was in love as soon as I walked in. Florida feels like home. It's exactly as I remember it - sunny, green, beautiful beaches, laid back vibe. We all got straight into ...

... spring water and just enjoy the peaceful surroundings filled with lots of butterflies. Andrew even got to try out the tower jump into the deep dark bowl of the spring. The Manatees would just have to remain mythical to us as I was unsure if we would ever get to see one again, there are only know to be about 5000 left in the world.

It was on the road again and ready to hit Tampa that evening as we had a good 4 hours drive still ahead of us.

Had my first canteen looking lunch at a food court, massive slice of pizza and a large diet pepsi! Hour and a half later we were in Florida!! Panama City beach in beautiful. Described as the ...

... right?) so was excited at the prospect. It was a touch disappointing in that we only caught one thing, and it wasn't a fish. I CAUGHT A TURTLE. And a big one at that. Snapping turtles like that can take a finger without hesitation, so he was let go ASAP! Turns out, we were fishing fresh water with saltwater bait so...not surprising! On last laze on the beach completed an incredible week in florida. New Orleans beckons, catch you all soon with an update! ...

We have really enjoyed topsail hill, pretty centrally located, bike riding and mostly private beach access. Plus lakes, kayak and canoe rentals, tall pines to camp under and great staff. Today is red and purple flag day again so no beach. Hit the pool, did some bike riding ...
