... just adapted to this simple way of living. If I had one complaint it would be the sand flies which have destroyed my legs! I also stopped my anti malarias and the nets don't seem to be 100% here as I am very bitten. I have been on a boat trip with the boys, fishing, to long beach, swam with plankton (glow in the dark shrimp), sunbaved on my little balcony, played cards, talked endlessly to felix, loved his 2 year auz travel through pics while he told me stories, learned a lil bit ...
... leaking so our floor was like a swimming pool! Eventually we arose from our beds and spend the rest of the day without any electricity! This meant no wifi - no TV - no lights! So we spent most the day playing cards and eventually headed out for dinner with the staff and our 2 new friends for our last night! We all enjoyed Coca cola ribs from Bamboo shack along the beach! They were amazing! We have really enjoyed our stay at footprints but we can't wait to move on to Vietnam ...
... storms returned and we were hammered by rain and wind. We thought the roof might blow off at one point, did not sleep too well but it was nice to watch.
Morning came and the weather was much the same so we decided to get the next boat to the mainland and head to the next destination Kampot a day earlier. Along with everyone else on the island, the boat was pretty full but we made it back to dry (sort of) land. Then the sun came ...
... we had to go to Long Beach as it was even more stunning than where we were, although it was a trek away. So we managed to hop on a fisherman's boat for a trip around the island which include snorkeling, fishing and a few hours on the beach. The trip was a great way to fill the day. We visited a deserted island and managed to catch some fish off the boat with the most basic rod ever (some wire wrapped around a can). We then barbecued the fish and sat Long Beach ...
