... different perspective. I have only ever viewed it from the air flying over it in a helicopter to the Grand Canyon. The Dam is very impressive but the water levels are extremely low and you can see the receding water because of the white marks left on the surrounding mountains. The district is in a severe drought with some very extreme water restrictions in place. Damian dropped me off at a view point so I could get a better appreciation of the sheer size of the place ...

... had massive wind to contend with and at one point when I stopped for a quick video, Short Step came running around the bend 2 minutes later thoroughly freaking out, convinced that I had been blown off the mountain when she turned around and realized I wasn't right behind her. All in all, a great time was had. The temperatures were fair enough and we got to the 206 snow creek faucet around 2:40 pm. ... out in cold weather and get their feet wet too!

Daytime: temperatures have ranged from the low 50's to around 65 degrees. Anything above 50 degrees feels warm- unless the wind is blowing. When the sun goes down behind Mt. San Jacinto its time to don a jacket.

Precipitation: around a tenth of an inch last week. Not much rain but this is the desert.

Wind: breezy at times, calm others- UNTIL TODAY!

... it was a beautiful area with many gated and walled apartments and single family homes; even the shopping centers were upscale. The developed area was much larger than we anticipated, comprising of several cities that ran into each other making one continuous residential area. We had dinner at a local restaurant in the town of “La Quinta”; it was a quaint little establishment where we had a wonderful fish dinner.

... place seems to have a little charm that could make up for the "grandma decor." I did see some good reviews for the restaurant.

Fortunately, I found a great deal on for the nice, new hotel in town for €52/nt which is just a couple euros more a night than Hôtel l'Univers. Score! The best part is that it's right by our new architect's office.

I also made a hotel reservation for Toulouse. The difficult part was finding a ...
