... different perspective. I have only ever viewed it from the air flying over it in a helicopter to the Grand Canyon. The Dam is very impressive but the water levels are extremely low and you can see the receding water because of the white marks left on the surrounding mountains. ... the campground have not been good but we loved it. It is set up in the mountains with views of the valley below. Joshua Trees are in all the sites. A number of bath houses and not pits. No hookups but water was available around the campground. Check in was fast but it takes place at the Nature Center and after hours you have a self check in. Not all sites are level but you can find level sites even for big rigs. ...

... Tomorrow is Christmas Eve. Wind has become a factor in our overall comfort level so we don't plan on doing a whole lot other than preparing for Christmas Day and going to Mass in the evening. A lot of folks here at the Sands plan to travel in order to visit relatives for the holidays, others stay put. We will be attending the Christmas Day Potluck being held in the Oasis Hall right here at the resort with about 50 other folks.
