The Dam is very impressive but the water levels are extremely low and you can see the receding water because of the white marks left on the surrounding mountains. ... Red Light, Cannonball and Carolyn were not far behind us. The goal was 229 but from Whitewater to Mission creek was one hot steep climb, a hot long ridge walk and then a hard hitting long switch backed descent. We've done nothing but relax the past few days so I thought I would write about the weather that we have experienced since arriving here in Desert Hot Springs.

Here are my observations:

... cities, the windmill farm to the west, the desert and the mountains to the south of Palm Springs. The haze was not too bad today and so the view was fantastic. Driving throughout the park we saw many of the trees for which the park was named, the Joshua tree only grows in this part of the state. ... that encouraged her curiosity and was willing to go with Jane in the jungle to begin her research. Jane made herself seem more human to the crowd and not distant. About a week or so that Jane came to campus Maya Angelou spoke. Apparently this was her last public speech ever but I am not too sure how true that is. She shared with the audience how the events that happened in her childhood led her to not speak for years. Later on she had found her voice again through poetry. ...
