... different perspective. I have only ever viewed it from the air flying over it in a helicopter to the Grand Canyon. The Dam is very impressive but the water levels are extremely low and you can see the receding water because of the white marks left on the surrounding mountains. The district is in a severe drought with some very extreme water restrictions in place. Damian dropped me off at a view point so I could get a better appreciation of the sheer size of the place ...

... wind? Not me!

Where stable moist air flows over a mountain or a range of mountains, a series of large-scale standing waves may form on the downwind side. If the temperature at the crest of the wave drops to the dew point, moisture in the air may condense to form lenticular clouds. A couple of them have been observed today. Lenticular clouds have been mistaken for UFO's. I know what you are thinking. No, I do not believe in UFO's.

... that, "even thought I had left my voice, my voice had never left me." Imagine that. Someone who was silent for so long has made an impact that will speak beyond her lifetime. That goes to show most things are truly possible.

Another wonderful opportunity I had this month was to spend the day in Palm Desert and Ranch Mirage with my Uncle Bob, his girlfriend Barbara and her son Kevin. Since Redlands was on the way they had offered to pick me up and show me the area. ...
