... back in February when I came to Watamu for the first time to visit and get some diving done with a friend of mine at Ocean Sports, a dive place called Aqua Ventures. After that visit, Steve managed to talk me into going to Mozambique with him and his friends from Zimbabwe. So I did that! I went to Mozambique for one week, the last week of February. I stayed on an island called Situ Island, which was absolutely gorgeous - Pictures will follow in another blog.

          ... conditions.

That afternoon I headed to the Gede Ruins. My guide Alphas showed me around the palaces, mosques and trading centers of this former trade center that thrived from the 13th to 17th century and proved to be more interesting than I expected. As a bonus I got to feed the guenon monkeys that take over the road and have some mean looking canines.

This time I'm in an acrobatics production (imagine low budget Cirque du Soleil) and I'm in the group which does acrobatics in large pieces of silk/ribbon. I'm sure there is a name for that but it escapes me. My 3 fellow performers and I are twisting and turning high above the stage in our ribbons to very dramatic music ...

A running session again this morning sees us running down a dirt road in intervals and different paces to reach the creek. Feeling strong today so enjoy the test. The knowledge that there is a banana whip waiting at the end is motivation enough. I've been charging around d the Kenyan coast line for the past 12 days and I still look as white as a ghost (with the exception of the burnt bits which are ...

I awake to a text message from a mobile operator saying welcome to the UAE, so either I'm hallucinating from the pills or a Sheik has a very big antenna. No smutty thoughts please. Just before I'm about to leave Turtle HQ for the week, Kahindi brings in a huge, sick turtle in the back of the jeep. She has been floating around and has lots of algae, barnacles and parasites over her shell and skin and has leeches stuck to her eyes. Not pleasant. She weighs ...
